Brake Problem!?!?

I don't know how to describe this but I'll do the best of my ability to try to explain it. First off little details on my car. It is an 07 tsx automatic with about 3800 miles on it. Had it for about a little less than a year. A while back, I noticed my braking to be a little different than usual. When I press on the brakes, the brake pedal would go be resist then a little release making the braking ride feel a little jolty. It's hard to explain and I can't quite put my finger on it but originally I thought it was the brake in of the pads or something of the sort but today, then I braked, the rpm would go below 1 then jump up to 1 1/2 then back down again. Is this normal? I don't know what I should do, should I get this checked out under warranty? I don't know if this was my car or not, but as I was driving down the freeway, I could hear my exhaust flow and it sounded as if it went down then higher then remained at constant then down again. Again, I don't know if it was my car or the other car with an exhaust but I'm getting a little worried. Thanks for the help.

The post is a little confusing, but I will give it a go:

1. If your brakes are stopping you, w/3800 miles on the car, unless you are feeling pulsations in the brake pedal and/or steering wheel under light braking your brakes are probably fine. The "jolty" you are talking about with rpm changes sounds like the transmission downshifting as you slow down - normal. Further, if you are traveling downhill when this happens, it is your cars "grade logic" helping you to slow down by down shifting.

2. Your auto tranny will go in and out of torque converter lockup as is necessary by demand of engine and amount of throttle applied. This causes your revs to jump up in that case. Normal. If your exhaust is loud and problematic you are much more likely to notice it when you are starting from a standstill.

I beleive I understood the first post, but Bibledriver's answer cleared it up. I've experienced similar issues in the mountains and was wondering if it was a normal condition. This response put my mind at ease.
