Unhappy Auto Transmission slipping?

I was driving fairly aggressively through the back roads around my home, this past weekend. ( testing the new rear comptech, and neuspeed tie bar)

With a lot of hard\bank type turns , some heavy braking when needed.
and a bunch of Power shifting... doing this for about 20 minutes. It was cool outside, and the engine showed no signs of over heating.

Came to a stop light...did a California rolling stop...I went to hit the gas.
And it rev up, the car did not go anywhere. i look down to see if I was in neutral, this was not the case. It was like a second, then it grabbed. The car was in auto drive position when it happened

Anyone else seen this?

No, but it may have been an extended delay in the drive by wire throttle? Did it happen more than once?

It kicks! My brother and I were quite impressed by difference compared to stock...now for some summer tires....

The front tie was not as noticeable as the rear sway, I had the sway for a week before the tie bar....but I can tell its there, it made a stiff framework more stiff....kind of like a Viagra for a TSX....

Sorry to keep this off topic, but lots of people have talked about how the sway bar helps with understeer. But what about bodyroll? Is there noticably less bodyroll?

The rear sway reduces body roll pretty well. Previously cornering hard the car loads all the weight on the outside and understeers like mad, now instead of unloading all the weight, the rear stays flat and where it used to roll the back breaks loose instead. My car stays flat around turns now, very enjoyable. I'm hoping my springs will make it corner even harder.

Man...you guys suck... Now I have a rear sway bar on my wish list...

Ok, back on topic...
I have had that happen to me once. Pretty much in the same situation. I was approaching a stop light, I start to slow down (almost to a rolling stop), light turns green, I gas it and I get about a second (maybe not even) pause/reving at same time and she starts accelerating. My guess was a delay from the drive by wire. That or maybe it was changing gears when I gassed it. But after experiencing it, it didn't seem like there was something wrong... then again

A drive by wire hiccup ...maybe.
It has not happen again...

It could have been thinking, during the rolling stop....what gear the transmission should be in. I have witness a start off in second before, with out doing a complete stop. Could have been between a gear change.

To avoid this situation in the future, you could actually come to a complete stop.

I had to drive an automatic for the past two weeks, (though it was a mitsushitsi) - and i experienced that 'slippage' everytime i was going down a hill, stopped (not fully) and hit the gas hard.

just another reason why manual's rock.

When the TSX comes down to a stop, but doesn't actually stop, the car is in second gear. It will only shift down to first when you make a complete stop, or when you step on the gas.

I think the delay you guys experienced (and I have too), is the car shifting down to first before resuming acceleration.

My EL does this....I think slo007 is right. The car must be in too high a gear to accelerate the way it thinks you want to accelerate. I wonder if you had it in SS, if there would have been a delay, or just a really slow acceleration?

when you pressed the accelerator, did the car rev? if it didn't then I would say that's a DBW issue. If it did rev... then DBW isn't to blame.

when I pressed the accelerator, the car did rev for a second...then it took off. I feel now at this time i may have been between gears.

my experiences with Honda auto, they all pause for like 0.5-1 sec when you shift from P or N to D or R, not sure if the pause got longer as tranny age so i always wait for 1 sec if i shoft from N to D...

i noticed the delay in shifting from N to D as well so i wait a sec as well; also do you guys notice a delay when shifting in the "sport-shift mode"?

hope there will be a way to get rid of the delay with a possible reflashed ecu/programmable ecu/etc...

Honda's service guy told it the pause if there to "protect" the car to avoid "jerkness" i don't agree but there is not problem so i am not aruge...

on the side, when the car idle with higher rpm, shift engaged faster!! the pause is much shorter. you can actually hear the engaged from outside of the car, when you shift from P to D, it "clicken" so i guss that what happened for 0.5 - 1 sec!!
