2006 TSX wouldn't start in morning
2006 TSX wouldn't start in morning
Crap! I realized I left my dome lights on overnight by accident and it looks like my battery is drained. Here are the symptoms:
- locks wouldn't unlock when I pressed the buttons on the remote
- only the driver door was able to unlock when I turned it with my key plugged into the keyhole
- wouldn't start engine
- no dome lights
- no headlights
Basically, anything that needs power to turn on won't turn on leads me to think that my battery died. But now I don't know what to do. I do have another 2008 Altima available for jumpstarting (not sure how to do that yet).
Are there any chances to get my car back up without buying a new battery? What can I do now to try to get it back up before I call the some garage service?
Thanks. Your help is much needed.

If you left the dome lights on, the battery is dead. Jump start it.
I'm not sure what kind of wear that sort of thing causes in a battery, but I don't think the battery will need replaced. Of course, if you're running the OEM battery you might want to replace it anyways just so your battery doesn't suck
Decent battery is definitely on my list of things to improve in this car...

You dont need new battery if dome light was left on only for one night
You need to jump start that car with the other car.
Need jumper cables.
Bring the two cars close together but make sure they are not touching and space is left between them
Turn off the car with good battery.
Connect the cables in this other:
1) positive battery terminal of good battery to positive terminal of bad battery
2) negative battery terminal of good battery to ground of dead car ( do not connect to negative terminal of dead battery)
3) Without starting good car, see if car with bad battery starts.
4) If car does not start, turn on car with good battery and let it run for couple of minutes and then try to start car with bad battery
5) if it starts, disconnect cables and let car that had bad battery run for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Go on nice trip somewhere but make sure you dont turn off car until you are back home. When you are back home, turn off and try to restart.
Best of luck

Good point by Takran.
If this is original car battery from 2006, you may want to have it replaced sometime this year.
Dont know when you first got car. I am assuming you got it in late 2005 and battery is now 3 1/2 years old.
But leaving dome light on only for one night should not kill off a battery. It is just temporarily drained.
