2006 TSX (A/T; No Nav) Question

I just discovered this site and I was wondering if someone could shed some light. I bought my 2006 TSX in December '06. I have noticed a clunk/thud sound that comes from the engine compartment when my car reaches approximately 10 mph. It occurs just before the A/T shifts into 2nd gear. Also, the sound seems to occur when my car has been parked for a while and then driven. Because of the sound's consistency and its occurrence since brand new, I have attributed the sound to some type of engine component check. That being the case, I would expect that other TSX's make the same type of sound.
Was just wondering if any other TSX owner has experienced the same sound.
Thank you!

Howdy, I have the same model as you, bought around the same time. Hopefully you got as good a deal as I did.

The sound you hear is the VSA turning on. It does this as you gain speed after you initially turn on the car. If you read the manual, it also tells you about this. Some people describe it as a "groan".

Thanks for the quick replies. Good to now know for sure the sound is normal.
I think I got a nice deal on my TSX (silver/ebony). Searched for a couple of months (ran the spectrum from audi-bmw-saab-volvo etc.). I'm happy with the quality and quantity of car I got for the money. I even spent thousands less than friends of mine had spent earlier on accords and camrys.
Good luck and thanks again.
