2005 TSX Transmission Problem

Was driving my 2005 TSX AT on the freeway tonight and the car started jerking and the check transmission light, vsa light, and hazard light came on. Is my transmission toast?

My car had been surging slightly while on the freeway for the past year or so, but when I applied the cruise control the problem would go away, which led me to believe it was not the transmission. Plus the problem would only persist when it is warm outside (I live in Phoenix). I had taken it into two mechanics and both of them could not diagnose the problem. After doing some research, it sounded like the APP Sensor needed to be changed. I spoke to an Acura mechanic at the dealership and she said it sounded like the APP sensor too. I was going to change the sensor tomorrow as I had to order the part!! I am still not sure if this is the problem, but if the sensor has gone bad it should throw the check engine light not the check transmission light right?

Most of those sensors are interconnected, especially the ones you mentioned. The OBD should give it up on what codes have been thrown. Sounds like (I assume) the dealer rep you talked to is on the right track. Regardless of what you read here, you're going to end up there eventually anyway (a dealer), so I hope you made an appointment when you talked to her.
