2005- ABS,VSA, (!) light on after a flat tire change
Hi,
I had a flat tire this morning. I may have driven more then a mile with a flat tire unknowingly. The entire tire got cut as shown in the pic. I replaced it with a spare, I saw ABS, VSA and (!) lights being on. Later this evening I replaced it with a new factory recommended Michelin tire, but the ABS, VSA and (!) lights are still on even after driving 8-10 miles with the new tires.
I don't know what the problem is. I never had any problems with my car until today. Can you please advice on what I should do.
Appreciate it.

First thing is you have to wash that wheel........ Seriously though, that tire is pretty trashed, and if the inside is as bad as the outside, you may have clipped the wiring harness that runs down to the wheel hub area for the ABS and skid control with the disintegrating tire.. You may not be able to see it without removing the wheel, but if you do that, just take a good look and you should be able to see the cable and where it connects to the sensor. It kind of runs down along with the brake line (don't confuse the two). Sorry, kind of hard to explain, but if you take a look, you should be able to figure out. I can't think of what else might be going on, so that's my theory.
Thanks Simba,
This is going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix.
I spent $65 to diagnose the problem at the Acura dealership. The ABS sensor needs to be replaced. The wiring is ripped off. I'm not totally sure if it can be repaired, but as expected the dealership guy said its repairable.
Now I'm paying $135 for the part $109 to install. Total of $310. Such a costly error.
Not sure if any regular car service place can install the sensors??
This is the second time I'm losing a tire like this after going flat. I can't feel any difference in driving when the tire goes flat until it tire gets torn, can't hear any noise. How do you know when the tire goes flat while driving?
