2004 TSX Trunk release stopped working

Hi all, I have a 2004 Acura TSX, all stock. I've had it for the last 3 years and love it. A few days ago my trunk release stopped working.
Here's the deal:
Master switch in glovebox is on
Lever next to seat opens the trunk
Trunk release above the license plate does not work.
Both keyfobs will not open the trunk either.
But if the trunk is already open, both the keyfob & trunk release above the plate works as you can hear the actuator activating.
Help!

Mine had a short a couple years back. Kind of sounds like what mine did.

my remote at times will not open the trunk but still open the doors. When this happens I use the remote to open the doors which allows me to open the trunk by pushing the button on the trunk.

Check the trunk lid wiring harness right near where the trunk lid pivots, on the driver's side, under the rear deck. you'll need to remove the lining to get to it. There was a safety recall back in 2004 for the wiring getting damaged at this point. Mine started breaking apart in the last year. First a tail light or two on the trunk lid stopped working, then a license plate light (but it would turn back on when you started to open the trunk lid). Now, the trunk release button on the back doens't work. Each wire is breaking one at a time. I'm in the middle of trying to get my dealer to replace the harness (they claim the recall was already 'done' in 2004 so they can't do it again.. Acura corporate says otherwise. honestly, i think they didn't do anything in 2004 -- i didn't see any protective shroud over the wires when I looked...)

Trunk Release (one inside by driver feet)

I am having the complete opposite. I locked my trunk one day because of leaving it in a random parking lot so I locked the trunk switch manually with key and ever since I can not use the lever inside to open trunk (unlocked the lock with key too)..

Any ideas.. The button on back of trunk opens just fine....

Same thing happened to me, ironically at the same time both the front driver and passenger side lock actuators went out. After i replaced both actuators the rear switch for the trunk started working again...Im thinkin the locks including the electronic trunk release are are all wired in series? Possibility cause it works fine for me now....
