I just picked up a 2005 TSX with navi, the guy didn't have a navigation disc in it when I bought it. so I just purchased and got my updated disc in the mail, I put it in the driver in the trunk and the navi screen goes from "please check disc" to "please wait downloading software", then after about a minute or 2 it says "please check disc". I have read a few other posts and I am suspecting the DVD drive in the trunk may be the problem. is there anyway I can check to see if its the driver that's the issue or the navigation unit? my cd player / aux system still works but the screen wont go past saying "please check disc"....

 

Manual says check disc surface for errors and if OK, replace DVD

I had similar problem on Acura MDX and paid for rebuild from Alpine to fix. It was $170 at time, but I think it's closer to $400 now.
