Head lamp condensation No HID light
Head lamp condensation No HID light
My daughter had a front end accident (2006 TSX) a few months ago the body shop replaced both headlamps but recently the passenger HID went out they said they had used the original bulb and that it could have burned out at any time they wouldn't cover replacement but they could put in a new one for $240. So I did it myself and it worked no problem until we had a heavy rain and there was condensation in the lamp and HID stopped working again. Replaced the HID bulb again today and nothing no light.
Any ideas whats going on could the ballast be shot from the condensation? What do I do to trouble shoot

There are 3 components to the xenon setup in the TSX.
Ballast, Ignitor, and Bulb.
To test the bulb, move it to the side that works and if it comes on, then you have a bad ballast and/or ignitor.
The headlight must be removed in order to access the ballast and ignitor. The ballast sits at the bottom of the light and after removal you should be able to look at the top to see if water has penetrated the ballast.
Ballasts, bulbs, and ignitors are all electrical components that do wear out and go bad. This could just be a coincidence. Or the wreck could have shortened the life of the ballast.
Did the repair shop use aftermarket headlights or did they install new OEM headlights?

HID Light Fixed
The body shop replaced the head lamp it is aftermarket, my auto insuarance doesn't cover OEM unless an aftermarket part isn't available. I discovered corrosion on the ballast, I replaced the ballast and ingniter for $100 used OEM works great!
