04 5AT TSX Handbrake beeping?
I'm not sure if something is wrong or not, but when I'm driving and I pull on the handbrake it doesn't lock the front (or is it rear) wheels. It just starts doing a suttle beeping and nothing happens. I can even drive with the handbrake up and nothing will be wrong.
It is supposed to do that?

why are you pulling the hand brake and driving? do you not know what it is for?
There is another pedal to the left of the gas pedal.....that one is the brake!

I'm not sure how often you pull the PB, but you may be making an early visit to change your rear pads and potentialy rotors. If you feel no resistance when you apply it when you park (i.e you get that roll) then get the cable adjusted at the dealer.

Well, I dunno, but the hand brake is not only for parking brakes, it also serves as an emergency brake (hence the term emergency hand brake), so I guess I can kinda understand why he was trying to test that....
and oh btw, if you see how tiny those little pieces of things that push onto the rear rotors are (the hand brake "pads"), you'll understand why they don't "brake hard"....

Correction, the TSX doesn't use this separate drum brake (for hand brake) on the rear hubs of the rear wheels like some of of other 4 wheel disc brake cars.... It is merely a cable/lever that presses the piston of the disc brake..
So essentially, this tells you how much force you have to apply to stop the car if it wasn't for power/hydralic brakes...

From Wikipedia:
e-brake:
"An emergency brake is a separate brake system in a vehicle for use in case of failure of the regular (hydraulic or air) brakes and commonly used as a parking brake in automobiles. Also called hand brake, many people shorten emergency and call the devices e-brakes."
so don't use it while driving, unless your braking system really had a failure..........lol
btw people use it to drift on snow (b/c there aren't much friction between and snow and your tire, so it will not harm your e-brake as much) don't use it on dry surface!!!

I can lock up the rear wheels using the parking brake on wet pavement but not on dry pavement. Like PWPTSX said, you should be able to stop the car just using the parking brake.

i think you should get another car instead of a tsx...i don't think it's fit for being killed by a HB. go with an american car and mess with the HB on that.
