$36000 is an insane amount of money for a TSX.

Yes, I heard that Japanese import are very expensive in Europe because euro car for them is domestic! In general everywhere in the world always prefer import over domestic product!

So how much it cost for a E46, A4 or C-class in Neverland?

I emailed the dealer about something else and mentioned I saw their over-priced TSX on www.vtec.net. He kind of blew off my dig and just said to make them an offer. I told him that I really wasn't interested in it, but I understood the purpose of that car which is to sell to some more-money-than-sense wealthy father who wants to buy his son a cool car. LOL

Hey, I'm just curious, what's the average family income and tax rate in the Netherlands? In the U.S. it's $43,000 and for this income, tax rate is roughly 30% (federal + state income tax + social security + medicare), more or less depending on the state one lives in.

But it's probably true that things in general are more expensive in Europe. I went to the UK and France last year and the pound is used there exactly the same as the dollar is used in the U.S., meaning however much I pay for something in dollars, I have to pay the same numerical amount in pounds over there.

A BMW 325i Executive costs about $ 53.400 (44.500 Euro's)
A Mercedes-Benz C 240 Avantgarde costs about $58.600 (48.600 Euro's)
An Audi A4 1.8T (163 hp) costs about $ 45.800 (38.200 Euro's)

The same cars cost about 20% less in Germany, but because of our gready Gouvernment we have to pay a tax called BPM on new cars, which makes them very expensive

I think the average income is about $ 26.000 tax rate is roughly 35% for that income. For higher incomes the tax rate increases to up to 50%.

Man, that means you guys have a really low purchasing power. In the U.S. the TSX costs the average family slightly less than 1 year's income. For you guys it's almost 4 years' income. And it's the Accord, a family car too.

It’s not as bad as it looks based on the numbers above. Our tax system is quite complicated, there are different scales based on income. But we don’t actually pay 50% over the whole income; only over the part that is above I think 60.000 euros or something. But on the other hand we can deduct a large part of the interest on our mortgages.

So you can’t really say that we have low purchasing power, but nevertheless cars are very expensive over here…
