Talking TSX 180 U-Turn

I drove a TSX today showed a friend how to make a U-Turn with the car on a NARROW two lane mountain road. Hope you guys enjoy! I'll keep updating the video the next couple days I have the car around. I drive a 3G TL.

Ok So the first video below is me showing him how to do a U-Turn in a two-lane road. If video doesn't play correct just refresh page.

In this video I guess he wanted me to go sideways for a close up haha. If video doesn't play correct just refresh page.

Nice. Brakes and tires are wear items. As long as you practice that where you can't hurt anyone else then go for it. Its good to know exactly how the car handles.

Just pull up on the e-brake and turn hard one direction. I use to do it with my prelude in high school a few times. It really isn't that bad for the car if you do it once in while. You put just as much stress on the suspension, brakes tires and what else you can think of driving hard.

i see that he also added a scandinavian flick before pulling the ebrake. Nice! Wouldn't want to do it to my own car since I don't want loose ebrake lines.

OK so some are ok with it and some aren't. I guess I "abuse" my car every once in a LONG while, but have never had a problem with it in 50k+ miles. As a matter of fact we SD people just had a palomar run this weekend driving the cars fast through the mountains. All the Acura's handled like the champs they are. Is this also "abuse". I actually REALLY want to know. Not being sarcastic.

if you were driving the car fast thru the mountain, i am fine with that and count that as an art of driving, drifting or fast braking the car is alrite for cars that is specially made for it, but i don't agree doing this in a TSX thou. my 2C

Had a spare bumper at home LOL. I guess you saw that video too.

Hey guys the video he is talking about is HERE.

As you can see in the video I was driving my TL with about 20 other Acuras fast thorught the mountains and THEN other owners were having problems like ABS and steering fluid pump, etc. So more damage was caused drive through corners then doing 180s in my cars. I know the 180 look like they'd do more damage, but they really don't.

Thanks! A friend when I was 16 told me to just pull on the e-brake and flick it before I pulled. I just practiced since then a few times and got the hang of it. So in other words PRACTICE and one day you'll be better then me.

And sorry for the word & grammer murder on my last post.

Its cool. I actually respect you all who don't do this becuase that shows how much you REALLY love your cars. So much so that you wouldn't even want to risk doing anything that might harm your cars. I give you all mad props

why is everyone complaining about this? its not an extremely difficult maneuver and it does not do a whole lot to your car

Come on this isn't Dukes of Hazzard or Knight Rider here

When I saw your thread I thought you were doing an actual u-turn and assumed you were going to comment on the turn radius which isn't that good on the TSX.

Whatever... I love it. I find it much harder to handle a FWD car like that, and I can't imagine doing that to my new(ish) TSX yet.

But if it were a rental... giv'r

yeah, i'm not sure why everyone has such a problem with this. Cars are built to take hard driving, the only thing that this could hurt are the tires and brakes, maybe some suspension if he messes it up. Every cop it taught how to do offensive driving, as are most professional drivers (for important people at least).
