Spoon Style Spoiler - Pics from Various Angles (No 56K)
Just got my Spoon Style spoiler painted and installed. I've had that thing for a few weeks and finally got a chance to get it all taken care of. Sorry if there is any repition in the pics. I wanted to show everyone as many angles as possible. I wasn't able to find many pics when I was trying to do research on this spoiler. So here you guys go
My Advans are off the car right now. Wanted to test out if changing the wheels effect acceleration. It's a very nice ride on the OEM tires vs. the 225s.

Hey TSX536~
Did you get your Spoon Style Ducktail Spoiler from the Singapore guy??? ME and one other member has it too. I have it installed a month ago, but I took it off because I didn't tape probably the first time, both edge stick up a little bit. I'm trying to find some more 3M Double side tape so I can put the spoiler back on again. It's very difficult to find those 3M tape, anyone knows where to get it? Or any specific name???

Thanks for the compliments. It's a replica Spoon Spoiler and I got it from a seller on Ebay. The same guy from Singapore that you got yours from Chuson. Unfortunately he's not selling it on Ebay anymore. If you guys want I can try to email him for you though. I actually got this spoiler back in May, but have finally gotten around to getting it painted.
Cost: $125 shipped for Spoiler unpainted + $125 for Paint and install = $250 Total
When I got the spoiler there were a couple of very small things that had to be touched up, but overall I'm very happy with it considering the price. I don't bring my car to shows or anything and it's good enough for me. The paint matches dead on when looking at it in person.
Advans will probably be going back on a little later. (Sorry Sho-one ) My tires are starting to go and I want to get some 235/40s for them later. For now, the ride is in full sleeper mode

Yeah 3M tape. The heavy duty outdoor stuff. I had doubts about whether it would stay on there will only tape, but after putting it on it feels like the spoiler isn't going anywhere. Fastest I've hit with it on is probably like 90 mph so far. The big test will be at higher speeds.
Chuson: You can get the tape at Lowe's. Same section as all of the other tapes, painters tape, etc. You want the heavy duty outdoor grade 3m double sided tape.

^^ Thanks! The edge is actually hanging out over the trunk a little. It's hard to tell from the angle of the pics. It could probably be moved back a little bit. I tried to adjust it a tiny bit, but that thing won't budge. It's really on there with the 3M tape. If it ends up bugging me later, I'll just take if off and redo it. I've had 2 of friends look at it, and I asked them the same thing you mentioned and they both said it looks good and to just leave it alone. If I was gonna do shows it would a different story, but I'm just the average dude rollin' down the freeway like most of you guys

Looks good Kenny!
I got mine back from being painted a few weeks ago, but since I have the OEM Ducktail on the way I won't be installing mine after all. Anyone interested in one identical to this one? Same color, etc.

This replica Spoon spoiler from Singapore.... Some of the bros here have it. If the sitting is not that good, a few tips :
1. Get a heating gun (the same type as doing car films) and heat the under side of the spolier and make sure you evenly heat over the area. Put a cloth on the underside and use this to press down on the trunk and hold it there until it cools off. The spoiler edges will be more firmly follow the slight arch.
2. Once it is more or less more tilt to match the trunk. Buy the 3M or sticky double side tape (meant for outdoor use, tough little buggers). Line up the sides all around and leave the centre free. In the centre, fill with gluey sillicone (those used in industrial for tough holding) Don't put too much and once you lace it down, the 3M double side and the silicone and hold it there till it sticks.
It should be so damn firm that it will not move and really hard to get it off will mean to respray your trunk paintwork. No choice as no holes for reverse mounting......
Hope this helps and I lkearned this from one of my friends who had it. Secrets is out...

3m double sided tape is sold at some auto parts stores. It has to be dark grey with a red divider.
