painted mugen grille, pics and poll
ok, so i had bought this 06/07 mugen grille off a member from the 'other' forum. originally, it was PWP and the owner had even painted the mesh. here's what it looked like--
[IMG][/IMG]
took it to a garage and had it repainted in NBP. they also sandblasted the mesh to get rid of the white paint and repainted the mesh in a flat black at my request since the metal would be raw. the color match is pretty good. i'm trying to decide how i want it to look as far as the emblems go. it's either no emblem, mugen emblem, or the acura A emblem (from the RSX). my friend suggested the A saying the mugen is too ricey, but i just wanted to get some feedback from a-zine members.

saved a little money. the real added benefit was getting it a lot sooner. but my kit still hasn't arrived yet.

You paid for a mugen part you might as well put the Mugen emblem on there. If you were just going mesh you could of got a knock off one on ebay for cheap .
I am getting tired of waiting on the kit and the dates keep changing.

the back of the emblem has these 2 screw points. i don't think there are threads in them, but i can just line them up on the grille and put in two screws from the back into those points and it should hold. i'm probably just going to hit up home depot to get them.

haha. but it's a real A from an RSX grille!
i did wonder if it looks tacky just putting it on. but like someone else said, it's kinda weird having the mugen logo on front and the acura emblem in the back.
but i also am proud to drive an acura. i don't know. i'm indecisive again.

lol. i didn't notice this was bumped up.
i ended up with the mugen grille, no logo, and installed the euro-r kit. i have pics after a wash from a few weeks ago. i just can't find the freaking cable to upload them. i'll try and do it tonight.

pics and results--56K enjoy the download
here are some pics of my car after a wash a few weeks ago. euro-r kit and mugen grille. no rebadging or additional 'A' emblem. i think it looks a lot more aggressive and cleaner that way. and yes, i need to get rims and drop the car. enjoy.
front angles: unfortunately, despite installing the front in what i thought was warm weather, there is a small section right around the fogs which didn't cure properly. it's not horrible, but it sticks out a little. probably can't see it in the pic, but you'd see it in person. on a sad note, 2 days after i washed the car, i found 2 tiny chips on my mugen grille!! it looks like 2 tiny dots of bird shit. i wish it was that. i'll have to touch it up one day.
side: looks dirty, but it's really not. just a lot of junk reflecting off the surface thanks to four star upp.
back: had issues with the double-sided tape here too. i think the combination of warm, particularly from the exaust, and cold, loosened tape on one side. i tried putting on the a-spec exhaust tips, but both bolts freaking broke as they were all rusted in. i recently got some left-hand drill bits and i'm hoping to extract them to replace the tips.
hoen xenonmatch bulbs: these things look freaking great. too bad the one on the driver's side bit the dust the day after i took these pics. looking at the bulb, it was probably my fault as i probably scraped the tip when installing it. i need to replace this.

this makes me wary of getting coilcovers. while i'd love a better suspension and the lowered look, i'm worried about these freaking NYC driveways. maybe i'll just get some 18" rims and call it a day

^tell me about, i cringe everytime i hit a hole because even if i do a 5mph roll u still hear something rub/scrape. and i didnt even raise my car for the winter so lets see how that goes.. and ride looks nice just lessen the wheel gap somehow..
