Good bye TSX, hello C300!
What's up, guys?
I've spent nearly a year of happy driving with my TSX, but with less than 10K miles, I'm about to sell her for a 2008 Mercedes C300 Sport. I bought a 2007 C230 in May and love the car, but the 2008 is amazing! So, I'm gonna send the C230 home and keep the C300 here. I'm really gonna miss the TSX, but I have wanted the C300 for as far back as I could remember. It is speced as follows:
Mars Red
Black MB-Tex
P2 Package
Multimedia Package
7G Auto
Panoramic Sunroof
18" AMG Wheels
Rear Lip Spoiler
The car should be ready by early October. I first test drove the C200K European Avantgarde AMG Sport Packet in June and fell in love with the car! The Kompressor engine has so much torque! Too bad we don't get those options here in the US. Well here are some pics ... I stopped by a dealer and they had a Mars Red C300 in and I took it for a spin and took some photos with my phone of it next to my TSX. Sorry for the crappy quality.
Also, I have a question. I have about 4 weeks to decide to either sell the TSX or trade it in. Anyone traded/sold an '06 lately? Mine is in pretty much brand new with Navi and 9,000 miles. What should I expect?

Yeah, such a playahater!
Love the rims and the design!
I personally would have chosen a different color though.

wow you like to change cars alot. if you can afford it, why not? nice choices. i love my 06 tsx. did own 2 mercedes over the years. good luck and enjoy. since you have time, ask the dealer want they would give you as a trade-in and then try to sell it on your own. you still have time.

I personnely don't like the look from the front end, it just looks too big. I think the rear end looks fine and the rims look good too but the front looks I also would've chose a different color.

6MT or Death
^^ I second that. Everyone's got their own taste and it's not always about player hating, sometimes it's about design hating. Not to mention it's a C class...so..Player? Nah. I'm not a fan of the color or design, but enjoy your new car.

Appreciate the comments, guys. I know that the red is a very touchy color - you either love it or hate it. For example, I hate the way it looked on the TSX when I bought mine, hence CGP. The car is really sexy, and with the full roof panorama sunroof, the red will be complemented nicely with the black roof.
As speced, the MSRP is $42k. This is very steep, but I am getting every option save TeleAid (think Onstar). I was thinking of getting the C350, but the fact that I am single, 23, live in Miami and will be driving a Red Benz, the insurance was almost $1.5k more every 6 months. Not worth the extra 40 horses...

It's a great car great color but 2 things bug me.
Depreciation is horrible on all Mercedes' so I would wait 1 year.
Also... as with all cars this is the first model for the redesign so you know the story.

dibs on the tsx flip key! jk... mostly
Maybe it's the cameraphone, but that red doesn't look too vibrant; it seems quite dull, almost magenta-like. I thought the tsx red looks brighter. just an opinion

Nice looking car, hope you get the same pleasure out of it that you got out of your TSX.
Hope you don't mind the extra depreciation & maintenance that is likely to come with the MB! Or perhaps things have improved over the last couple of years.
I think you're right. I'm not liking the MB's red either, but I prefer "fire engine red" to maroons. I would have been disappointed with the "red" TL too, it seems similar to the C300 color. It doesn't look bad, just not my taste.

The new C looks "dull" and "ugly" on paper especially the front, but it's a totally different car when you see it in person.
I saw a new White C350 on the street this weekend and it looks pretty hot. The only thing I dislike is they carry over the old engine, hence the 3.0V6 and 3.5V6.

The red is not as dull as the pics make it look (my cell camera is not that great and it was cloudy that day). Here is a link to a review done so that you can check the color and the interior. This car is virtually the same as the one that I am getting besides the Panorama Sunroof and the Rear Lip Spoiler.

If you like it, more power to you. I happen to think that the back looks too much like the 08 Accord and the grill makes the car look, I don't know, "hungry?" I just think the grill should've been designed better but I'm sure some people love that look.
As for the interior, the pop-up screen is a definite no-no in my book but, again, some people might like it. Too me it just looks like 4pm Friday engineering (I can see it now, "Klaud, we forgot to put a screen in the automobile! Why don't we make a hole here and make a pop-up one come out?").
I know how it feels to want a new car. I had an 05 Scion tC that I traded in to get my 07 TSX. I've had her for about 5 months and I'm already looking at other cars (have a 3 year lease, tho, so I'm keeping her at least that long). Speaking from personal experience, the need to change cars so much indicates mental problems (nothing serious, just lack of focus, maybe ADHD?). I get bored too easily, as I'm sure you do, too, and need that "new car feeling" to make me feel good again. I'd fight it if I were you, especially at 23 (I'm 30 and I should be fighting it as well).

I haven't been this excited over a new Mercedes in a while. I stumbled on the new C-class a couple of weeks ago and was stunned. The interior of the car is really nice looking. I would bypass the amg wheels and get some aftermarket 19's possibly chrome with a staggered lip.
The new AMG CLK is another new mercedes that is ready to rape some roadway.

Congrats and good luck with it. My family had a number of benzes over 3 decades. Each has stayed beautiful after 10 years, have been driven well over 100k miles EACH, and have been great to drive. Maintenance costs were a bitch after awhile, but none of them had problems until after 100k miles.
