which is it worth it?

I'm deciding on a bodykit and came down to kenstyle and euro r.

Euro-R
Pros
1.Pre-painted
2.Classy Look (not too edgy)
3.Easy to replace if damaged(compaired to replacing an entire bumper)
4.Polyurethane ***

Cons
1. I have to replace my current front and rear bumper before I can attach this(NYC Bumper checks blow...).
2. I don't know how much this will lower the car (I believe the kenstyle lowers the car 1-1 1/2 inches in the front).
3. Not as unique as kenstyle

Kensyle
Pros
1. Unique look
2. Classy look as well not too ricey
3. Cheaper than Euro-R (In terms of I have to replace my bumpers for euro-r)

Cons
1. Fiberglass (In NYC this means death)
2. Not Pre-painted

I ahve to replace the bumper becuase on the front right side some1 was double parked and a car tried to squeeze by and bent the front bumper in a little off alignment. There is also 3-4 scratches from ppl trying to go head first to park. Now for the back bumper theres 3-4 scratches from bumper checks and 1 spot where the paint is cracked due to a bumper check. All of these scratches were somewhat my fault for not thinking before I park but i blame that on my lack of experience as this is my first car ever.

which euro r kit are you trying to do. if you do the euro r kit for the same year car you have you do not need to replace the bumper at all.

If I was going to choose the Euro-R, I would go with my year. I am replacing the bumpers just so I would look new. The rest of the car has no scratches or dents on it, just a little buffing during the summer will make it look like new again. The scratchs on the bumpers r just unrepairable without a repaint or total replace. I wouldn't even 2nd guess myself if i didn't have to replace the bumpers. BTW, does anyone know how much the euro-r lip kit lowers the front by?

Thanks, Now Thats another plus for Euro-R

It's true that the kenstyle is more expensive than the euro-r lip kit by itself but, as stated before, I would need to replace my 2 bumpers which will add an additional 1000-1500 to the final cost.

really? howso?
This question isn't towards me but i'll answer it anyway. It's more durable because the euro-r is made of polyurathane and the kenstyle is made of reinforced fiber glass.

depends if you buy the real kenstyle kit or not. if you buy the real one then I think the prices will be exactly the same really. real kenstyle is around 2500 shipped. you have to add atleast 1000 to that to get a good paint job for it. so you are at 3500. if you get the euro r kit you can get it for 1450 shipped with the foglights. then you add two new bumpers and around 300 a piece and then about 500 each to repaint you come in at around 3100 which is less than the kenstyle.

Where are you getting that price from?
It's listed as $2K here.
On it's own site in Japan, it's ¥189000 ($1615) plus the rest. That may include Japanese sales tax - so it could be 5% (or whatever it is) less.
Painting shouldn't be more than about $500 for all 4 parts, unless you have them blend into the surrounding panels of the car.

ok back when it first came out it was around 2500 for the kit sorry I have really looked into the kit much right now. also I am sorry but being as that kit has a brand new front bumper you find me a body shop that will paint the entire kit for 500 and still be a top of the line body shop. I can easily find a bunch of shitty places to paint stuff for that cheap but no good body shop does it that cheap.

I don't know what the typical costs are in the US, but here in the UK - $50/hr labour equates to about $250 for the front, $150 for the rear, and $100 for the side pair.
Like I say, if they attach and blend into the surrounding panels, then you're talking as much again.
I can't stress enough, what anyone charges is not always a sign of the quality of their work - some are worth every penny, others shouldn't be touched with a barge pole.
I would always inspect any company's work personally before handing them mine to do.
Equally, I'd ask a few choice dealers who they use externally or altogether if they don't have their own guys. Chances are if you ask the local Lexus dealer (for an example) who they farm out the work to or recommend, you'll have no complaints.

its kinda retarted hear in the US atleast around me. most places just charge a flat fee of around 350-450 to paint a single bumper and about 200-250 to paint side skits.

Smile About the kenstyle kit

I would go for the kenstyle kit anyday.. because i have the kit on my car.. hhehe.. just the bad part is... if u damage any part of the kit... you have to buy the whole kit again.. i talked to the kenstyle people, they said they don't sell individual parts. So right now im trying to find the kenstyle front bumper for my friend.. if you have any information on where my friend can get it.. PM me please

Can anyone say if this holds true for the 06 Euro-R kit as well?

I live in an area where there are many inclines (particularly into the underground garage of my office building), and if I run the risk of scraping on a regular basis or not being able to go over certain speed bumps, then the kit probably won't be a good idea for me...

Btw, I'm lowered ~2" and probably will drop another 1/2" this weekend (read: will be @ 4-5" ground clearance in the front)...

Thanks for all the input so far, Right now im leaning more towards the Euro-R just because of blktsx comment about if it cracks I have to buy the whole kit all over again. Since I'm in nyc it would be more a logical choice, but my greedy side wants to get it anyway because I have yet to see a since kenstyle kit in nyc. I've seen a few OEM kits but thats about it. Being 1 of the few(Might even be ONLY) kenstyle tsx in NYC (Not upstate) is a huge plus.

i don't think so because the foglights that come with the kenstyle kit are specifically for the kit.. not sure if the size and the width etc.. would fit.
