tsx performance question

posted this question a while ago....but....

coming from an Integra to the tsx (6speed) ive noticed some differences.

first gear is a lot faster but when shifting from 1st to 2nd the rpms drop a considerable amount. im not sure if its just my car or what but i dont think this is right. everyone always tells me that my cars pretty fast blablabla so im like umm it ain't that fast so i tel them to come for a ride and they change there mind after that. i dont see how and why it does this. my ls integra felt more powerful (after 1st) then my tsx. someone help me out. im wondering if its just the stock ECU and maybe its so restritcting or something. when is hondata coming out and would that possibly help. im lost.

Yes 2nd gear is a little too tall IMO. Hondata will probably be able to help out the transition from 1-2 by lowering the VTEC crossover to somewhere around 5000 rpm. Really there's not much that can be done unless you get different gears.

Hondata is working on a reflash for the ECU and a replacement ECU called the K-Pro.

You've got to bury the tach in 1st and then let the clutch slip a little when switching to second.

Blame all those folks that wanted good 0-60 times. With a closer 2nd you wouldn't be able to get to 60 in 2nd.

Don't double clutch. It sounds impressive to your friends but it doesn't give you any performance advantage. You won't be able to shift quick enough to keep the engine in the higher cam setting if you double clutch.

Just run 1st gear to 7300 and shift normally to second and you should still be above the VTEC engagement point.

Double clutching on upshifts (with the intention of going fast) is Teh Fast and Teh Furious garbage. Save it for double-downshifting and such.

Same thing on your LS. Double clutching died with the invention of synchronizers.

What do you mean it "doesn't work"?

How does one gauge if double clutching "works" or not?
