troutman's impression of the comptech titanium bar
troutman's impression of the comptech titanium bar
as most of you know, i am in the process of modding my suspension.
i have had the comptech titanium strut bar for a while now, but secretly hid it from you guys until i got my teins hehe.
anyway to the important stuff.
the first question everyone asks is - does it make a difference.
my answer? yes. the difference is very subtle though. please note that i currently have eibach pro kits w/ 19" volks.
with the pro kit and the stock strut bar, there was still some weight shifting from side to side w/ even moderate cornering.
the addition of the comptech titanium strut bar definetly decreased the body roll from side to side, it feels like the car doesn't sway to the side when you corner hard.
i know it does make a difference, there is a turn that i make merging onto a local highway, and before i would have to use my brakes b/c turning at high speeds made the car feel unstable and if i had a passenger, they would always slide to the right (the turn was a huge right obviously)
after the install of the strut bar from comptech, there was a noticeable decrease in body roll in the same turn. the car now feels like it is not slipping, and the car turns more precisely. imagine sitting on a stool and while remained seated, turn your body to the right while still sitting upright. that's how the car feels now.
even in moderate cornering, such as turning into my subdivision, i can take corners at a higher speed that i could with the stock strut bar. once again, i noticed that the car does not shift at even moderate cornering.
normal mundane driving - you can not tell a difference in ride quality. the comptech titanium strut bar doesn't make any weird clunking noises, the chassis doesn't rattle. nothing. you cant even tell something is different.
please oh please dont expect your tsx to handle like a ginsu knife after this mod. like i said the difference is subtle, but i def like the way the car handles after the install of the Ti. bar.
the finish of the strut bar is immaculate. anyone who lays eyes on this thing is amazed by the fit and finish of the product. the logo is laser etched, it's not a sticker.
if not done for handling purposees, the strut bar can also be used as a way to enhance the image of your engine bay. many will not see the point in this, but attention to detail shows your pride in your vehicle.
if you had a few hundred bucks to spare, the comptech Ti. strut bar is def a nice piece. i have no regrets on acquiring it and would recommend it for those who want to enhance either their handling and/or the appearance of their car.
thank you and have a nice trout for reading this

if nothing else, it's good to look at.
