Top speed on 6-sp manual?
I've been thinking about buying a TSX eversince it came out. Now I'm in the position to actually do so. Does anyone know how fast one will actually go?

i gaurantee it will do very close to 160..after 140 it will prolly take a while to get there, but i bet it will. i used to have an accord 5spd. that had a max speed on the speedometer of 140....it sure did 140. but it took a nice stretch of road to get there after th 125-130 mark

I swear the Car and Driver test said 133 or 135 and used drag limited as the reason. I find that hard to believe as the TSX has some of the best CD numbers out. I think if that's all the faster it goes, it's more related to a computer controlled item, although the gearing could come into play also. I have the 5AT and it feels like it would go 150, but you let off the gas at 75, it's like hitting the brakes.

Its hard to tell untill you actually try it. Once that drag comes into full play its like hitting a brick wall. You just cant go any faster. I think the TSX will probably top out at around 140 mph in the right conditions. Also keep in mind the speedo could be off by about 5 mph, maybe more at higher speeds.

Would 5 speed auto have a higher top speed? It's fifth gear is actually taller than the 6th gear on the manual. I think the torque converter locks over a certain speed, so the automatic should be faster if the engine is strong enough. Anyone know?
