yea it is used and it has a little dint on the right muffler but i'm serioulsy considering it still (it's the model specifically designed for the cl9 with the extra silencer after the resonator).

does anyone know if there are any gains to be had with this exhaust, or should i just forget about it and go single sided?

Duo can't beat a Single Cat Back Exhaust for Performance, Dude
You are striaght for Performance, Stick with Single Cat-Back

On the other hand, You will get a GREAT quality bulid Titium/Stainless Mugen exhaust.

One side of me wants the single side exhaust for the best performance but on the other hand i keep imagining how the car would look with an empty space where a muffler is supposed to be

In the end i'll probably just pick up the mugen because i'm getting it for half price... and half a dual is kinda like a single

Does anyone have any opinions on Toda header vs. the new mugen header? I simply want the one that will have the most gains and i have a feeling toda may be the right choice?

If you are lucky, you might be able to find a cover for the empty space. I know soe people in Japan did it before, but i don't know if it's custom or if it's just a rare JFM part.

Personally, if you get the Mugen exhaust, might as well go with the mugen header as well. I think mugen parts will be more likelt to compensate with each other better than other brands. Then after you get those, MUGEN CF INTAKE!!

if i get the j's exhaust which i want to eventually get i would have that space filled customly to look like it was never there.

yea getin the space custom filled is a good plan - its what i'd do.

i'm picking up the mugen exhaust tommorrow and i want the mugen header but have a feeling they'll be ludicrously expensive.

personally the mugen intake doesn't do it for me tho - i think it could be better designed then it is..

no fitment problem if you use the test pipe that comes with it or you can use the jdm cat like what chris f said but if you have a cusco type 1 or 2 lower bar you wont be able to use it unless you shave off a piece of the flange on the header.

hi bro, did you experience any "hissing" sound coming from the Toda headers around

2500 to 3000rpm ?

Juls....is that you?
Yes, Toda headers have that 'hissing' or 'tingling/metallic resonance' sound
at that rpm range. But it's not intrusive and never last very long...cos the rpms
goes beyond 3000 rpm in a jiffy!!!!

never mind about the price. I found your old thread:
hahahaaha how you know i went to fizz to get that header. Thats the place i go for all my parts. Anyway this is the story with the toda header. Supposely the header that hondata was using is the exact same one. Its made for the euro r but fits our car. The header cost me $1500 and the toda clutch and flywheel cost $1000 made for the rsx type s or r direct bolt on. Also i have a DC5-R LSD . All this is gonna get install saturday .
I hope you didn't pay much for the ITR LSD. For $200 more, you could have gotten the Quaife for the power you're putting down.

Low end gain in TQ ? hmmm not so for the 1st 3 gears below 3000rpm...more like TQ lost for the 1st 3 gear below 3000rpm...but once u pass 3000rpm....

u can really feel the pull...the car does feel lighter and more responsive with the Toda headers

The custom cat issue you stopping some of you from getting the Toda header isn't really much of an issue. It's fairly easy these days to get a custom cat made. Dave at SMS can do them. Kteller does too at very reasonable prices ($200-$300) most often.

Do you have a CAI installed?

I know DC header are in no way to compare with Toda. But once I installed the DC Header and High-flow cat, I felt a much improve @ low end torque (below 3K rpm). I installed the CAI alone for the first 2 months, then header + high-flow cat so I might sense the differences.
