Switched Injen intake from Short Ram to CAI

Well I am glad to report that i completed my CAI conversion for my Injen intake after having it in short ram for almost two years now, LOL. Sound wise i think it is actually much quieter and deeper sounding in CAI mode which I like. I also threw on one of those hydro shields and since there are some fairly large openings in the plastic panels below where the air filter is now i decided to cover some of them with dynamat that i had lying around. this way the chances of any significant amounts of water splashing up there are greatly reduced. i felt like a gained a little bit of power but maybe its all just in my head.

You may have gained some more responsiveness. However, I do think the possibilities of getting water to that filter is all in your head.

What was the reason for not doing this in CAI mode the whole time?

Nice. So what we're talking about here is the diff between SRI and CAI, not stock and CAI, correct? I should still expect some nice gains between stock and a CAI.

Did you notice any dropoff in torque with the switch?

I installed my Injen in SRI a few weeks ago. Still havn't changed over to CAI mode.

15 minutes install vs 1 hour being the reason.

That bolt to remove the resonator scares me.

Sounds better in SRI mode IMO.

that bolt isnt that bad, i used a small 10mm wrench, not a ratchet one, just plain ol 10mm wrench. once i turned it a couple times i used a socket by itself without the socket wrench. then i just turned the bolt with my hand using the 10mm socket.

and then 10 hours later.......

When I switched from SRI to CAI mode on my Injen, I notice some "learning" by the ECU where I'll have some hesitation down low during the first few runs. I also notice my engine making a clicking sound. I saw another thread where someone who installed the Injen CAI for the first time even posted a video of the clicking sound.

Did you notice this as well?

I was talking to some rsx people and they are more scared to hydrolock in cai then we are. Is their location lower than ours, we have atleast 2 feet from the ground that needs to submerge in water?

I got the hydroshield for bad weather in buffalo, and heavy rain, but i doubt i'll be seeing any flooded roads.
