short shifter install question

to the guys who have installed this...

is it supposed to be a real tight fit when you put the adapter over the shift lever?

i tried to put it on but it jams at about 1/4" in. I dont want to force it in and have it stuck on there?

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Just push it on as hard as possible. Make sure you got that ball covered in locktite. You should know its on when you cant push it anymore.

did u remove the shift lever assembly in the process?

how did u get the cables out of the assembly? i tried to get it out, but dont want to use too much force and break something.

the center cable is held in by the broze clip thats a bitch to get out and a bitch to put back in. I did take out the shift lever assembly to complete the job. It would be very hard to do while its still bolted in the car. Its been a while since I installed it so forgive me if I dont remember it all. If you need to just give me a call...I'll pm you my number

thanks for helping. ill give a call tomorrow when i start woking on it again.

i unbolted the shift assembly, but ran into the problem of taking the cables off, so i tried to just put the short shift adapter on and since i didnt have that much leverage, i didnt have that room to force the piece on.

ill try to remove the cables again.

I looks exactly like before the install. The short shifter for the TSX doesn't shorten the shifter itself. It simply shortens the "throw" during shifting by extending the length of the shifter from the bottom.
