RT High Flow Cat Question

I have a 2006 TSX with comptech header, comptech catback, INjen CAI, and Hondata. Im thinking about completing my car by getting the RT High Flow cat. But Im wondering about a couple things. First of all I here by installing this I would have to get gaskets or spacers to fill the gap to prevent exhaust leak. Shouldnt the cat be able to fit without having to buy extra parts. If I do have to where would I buy these parts? How does the 02 sensor work with this? IM very confused on what to do and what to buy in order for this High flow cat to work.

The cat is a direct bolt-on part, so it fits no problem. There is a hole tapped out for the O2 sensor too. You can buy the install kit that comes with all the hardware needed to install it.

As for gaskets: I just reused the gasket that went from my header to the inlet of the cat, and then I didn't bother with the outlet side. There are no leaks as far as I can tell or no CEL's.

Actually, I discovered a leak on the outlet side of the cat that bolts on to the exhaust. I bought a gasket from NAPA to hopefully fix this.

You can buy the hardware kit so you have new gaskets and hardware. On the stock cat you have studs which can be difficult to remove. So RT provides a hardware kit which typically includes gaskets and bolts/nuts. On the TSX I think it's just bolts/nuts.

PM me if you need the RT cat.

Not sure if you even need a RT cat, your cat is already a high flow model when compared to the previous TSX's. I believe the cell density of the RT cat is 300 cells versus your 400.

Targeted changes reduce backpressure and increase exhaust flow from 115 liters per second to 125 liters per second. Enhancements to the exhaust system include:
Cell density of front catalyzer reduced from 900 to 400 cells
Exhaust pipe diameter increased from 54mm to 57.2mm
Diameter of rear exhaust pipes (leading to finishers) increased from 42.7mm to 45mm
Muffler capacity increased from 52.1mm to 57.5mm

Some have them, some don't. I have a CEL going on right now, but I think it is the Winter Fuel additives (oxygenated gas). I know its different b/c mileage goes down by 2-3 mpg. Anyway, I just got the Mac Tools ET50 OBDII reader to erase. Neat little tool.

This is basically it. Mac Tools rebranded it:

Anyway, the antifowler solves the issue as far as we've seen. If you have an 06-07, your cat is much better than our 04-05 cats.

04/05 has a 900 cell cat.
06/07 has a 400 cell cat.
RT is a 200 cell cat.

The lower cell number the better for performance, and the 06/07 is a great improvement over the previous ones. However, in MOST states, it is illegal to remove or replace your catalytic converter unless the OEM one has failed. California is perhaps the strictest state in terms of exhaust / emissions control on their cars, and they will fail your inspection for modifying your cat. Basically they are one of the only ones that checks for it.

For this reason, a person in CA might consider swapping their 04/05 cat for an 06/07 oem one.

I haven't looked at a 06 TSX cat, but the 04 should be a 400 cell.

If Cali is so strict, how come so many people still modify their cars?? Such as test pipe and all that.
