Which you can't control the frequency of the wipe, from my quick glean of the link and site in general.
I'm sure you could get the official one for not a whole lot more.

Does the '06 TSX not have rain sensing wiper functionality?
If so, then it can be retrofitted to the '03-'05 TSXs.
If not, then sorry for giving false hope as I thought this would've been a shared item with the same engined European Accord.

the '06's have a fake rain sensing functionality. What it really does is slow the wiper speed to a slow intermittent when you slow down or stop. more speed sensative, but even then, not really.

Is it really that difficult to hit a lever to turn the wipers on when it starts raining? IMO, it's a waste of money.

Meh... hitting a switch isn't the point or how easy/difficult. We all want things to make our lives easier - ie. paying extra $3k for navigation system instead of buying a $10map, paying for automatic windows up/down, 1 touch sunroof open instead of holding the button down, automatic headlights instead of hitting the switch. It's not a matter of how easy it is to do, it's convenience, class and the almighty pimp factor!

Plus it makes your car that more different from all the other stocks out there.

i like the 06 "speed sensing" wipers. They don't wipe as often when ur standing still so not to create excessive noise, they wipe right when u let go of the break, and wipe faster as ur drive faster.

It isn't just the 06 that has it. Unfortunately, I'm unimpressed with them.

yeah, they're' weak. If you've got a MT, come to a stop light with your wipers on and keep your foot on the brake. put it in neutral. let your foot off the brake and the wipers immediately clean the windshield and sometimes 2ce if you're right before the normal interval. so if your windshield's dry, you'll get that horrible noise or streaks... weak!

If I recall, it doesn't even matter if it is in gear or not.

no but since i had this on my previous car i never had to use it and its kind of convinience
see basically whoever is here has bought an acura , u knw why??? coz its a luxury model wiht all those goodies right??? if u say ppl are lazy to turn on lights or wipers etc but again my questions if why didtn u buy the non-luxury models cheap and savvy they also have most of the function found in an acura but v didnt right ??? why??? everybody knows their own reason
so whats wrong to add a rain sensing wiper or auto lights it not the question of lazyness but a cool thing which most luxury cars have and there can be lost of argument for this but anyways ultimately its an individuals liking whether he or she wants it or not and there is no harm in discussing tht i guess so here we go ahead....

about the luxury stuff. The only rain sensing I've seen that is really good is on a BMW. Even then, I laughed at it. Having said that, I have 3 aftermarket modules on my car from KPTechnologies to manage rolling up the windows upon locking, one touch moonroof and the VSA off module. I had hopes to install the reverse mirror module, but I haven't asked him about how that one is going yet.

Acura gave us a lot for the money, but they missed a few "luxury" items. I'll take the reasonable price and good looks of the car and go aftermarket for the rest.

is the rain sensor the same as what we CL9 have here in Europe and Australia have? I really like the fact that you dont have to touch anything when it rains or dry, the wipers will just activate itself when it rains and stops during drytime.

Yup... I've had them on both my EuroAccords and must say they work really well... The sensitivity is really well adjustable and next to that also speed sensitive... You can adjust them to wipe exactly how you want. Only small thing I don't understand is why they didn't integrate the sensor into the rearview mirror but put it roght next to it

Due to the way the sensor works, it has to be on the glass rather than a short distance from it.

I understand that, but it could have been against the glass behind the rearview.. Even Skoda has it that way :-)

It is behind the mirror.

I suppose from an aesthetic pov, the two integrated would've been ideal, but from a practical pov, in the event either one is damaged/fails, then it's less expensive (under warranty or not) to replace either rather than both.

WTF? Reverse mirror module? So that when you back up the side mirrors point downwards? I swear KP's reducing the likelyhood of me trading in for another ride in '08 or '09!

I had this on my last car and kept it disabled. The mirror never seemed to quite go back where is was and i was always adjusting it. And even if it works right I didn't seem to be much help.
