Possible 15.18 1/4????

Tinky just ran my specs and with what I have right now the program says 15.18. With sticky tires and a really good launch maybe 15 flat...HMMM and I have done more mods since my last dyno maybe I can break into the 14's here pretty soon...now I just need to hit the track and see what i can get.

Try it and find out. Unless Kurt has already done it, you may be the first official TSX owner around here to break 15 sec.

I figure tsxs stock are running like 15.3x on good runs even with stock tires. SToke is probably putting down an extra 15+ hp over stock. which probably woudn't be good for more than a tenth or in the 1/4. But if you combine that with a 2.2 60' time which should be attainable with sticky tires you are now getting close to 15 flat.

I don't remeber who's run we saw hit 15.3 but they had a 2.3x 60' time which is not optimal.(though far from bad given the stock tire situation)

Haven't done it yet. Just waiting for the flash. I'm only mildly tweaked right now anyway. After the loss of the RSX last year, I've left the engine of the TSX alone. I'm going to get back to tweaking the suspension in the very near future though. I'm putting a set of Pro Kits with the Ingalls camber kit on and the Spoon strut bar. I'm trying to keep it very streetable.

I'll be the 3rd car with the Hondata flash, so I'll get it to the track the second I get it installed. That's definately going to get me in the 14s.

I will try and see when I can hit the track. Do you think I would run faster on stock rims with upgraded michelins or with volks and PS2's???

ok, what are the size and weight of the rims, and what tires and what size.

remember that a 17" wheel at 17 pounds is faster then a 18" tire at 17 pounds. The weight is further out from the center, so in theory 16inches would help in drag racing.

also, this summer i'm gonna try to get to the drag strip, but i don't know when and i'm such a noob at drag racing, but i hope to be around 15.3x

i think that the rsx-s wheels (02-04) will work. they are 16lbs, if i remember correctly, and with some grippy tires you should be able to get really close to the 14's

16" wheels with sticky tires would be ideal. It would be cool to see a run with 19s and then a run with 16s. I bet the difference would be huge.

Remember to have your gas tank near empty and remove your spare and tool set for the quarter run. I second the 16" RSX wheel suggestion too; assuming you have decent tires on these rims.

Go for it Stoke! As I've previously said, an optimally launched STOCK TSX in ideal conditions can do a flat 15.

There is no reason why you wouldn't be able to achieve it yourself.

Definitely try doing it with steelies if you can get your hands on a set.

I plan on trying it with my set of steelies and winters. (which will be pretty damned near to scuffed bald)

I cant find any steelies....that will fit. There is bracket racing at the track this sunday too. Oh I'll be the first to get out of 15's but I will do it with out Hondata. Anyone know what car came with steelies that fit the TSX? RSX 02-04 all had alloys....

It's going to be tough to find 5-lug steelies that will fit. Most of the time when you find steelies, the cars have 4-lug hubs. The Accord LX V6 has 16" (with wheel covers) that are 5-lug hubs though, come to think of it.

Kurt do you think the RSX alloys or the accord Steelies would be better for track runs? I'm gonna do it on street tires but I am gonna get good ones (another set of PS2's) And I only need them for the front right? The rear wheels and tires shouldnt matter if im not mistaken...Help me break into the 14's Kurt !!! =)

Since they will be the same size, just go with the one that has the best weight (which should be the RSX wheels). Trouble is going to be the cost-effectiveness of this purchase. The RSX wheels will be MUCH more than the steelies, so that may come into play. If you want to take that pricing into consideration instead of getting steelies, get a set of Rota Slipstreams . They'll cost you about $500 shipped in the above link or also here. or in 13 minutes or less here.

Just another thought. Don't waste the cash on PS2s for a track set. If you're not doing anything other than the 1320, just get a set of Kumho MXs or a drag radial. PS2s are way too expensive for drag purposes. They're great for auto-x and spirited driving though.
