Pond Grill

I posted this in a thread in Black Market, but I'm not sure if people would find it buried on the fifth page. I know several other people were interested too, so here's what I found out about the Pond grill in it's very own thread:

I spoke again with Tim @ Bulletproof, he says the price is $320 including shipping and they won't give any discount for a group buy. So, I guess we're on our own to each order should we want it. He does not guarantee fitment since it's made for the Japanese market, and can not accept a return if it doesn't fit. He says it comes unpainted. From the gloss in these pics, it looks like it just needs to be painted, but I can't tell if there's any chrome on there:

Anyway, from those pictures on Euro-R's, I'm guessing it will fit the TSX, so I think in the next week I'll order one! Here's the contact info:

Tim Willing (tim@bulletproofautomotive.com)
Bulletproof Automotive
310.327.763

I'm pretty excited to get this. I've got an NBP like the picture so I think it'll look really sharp on my car. Anybody else gonna get one?

there will be slight fitment problems. all the aftermarket grills (and even the euro R) fit slightly different on our bumpers. leaves a small gap at the bottom

I still can't figure out why Honda would put a different bumper on the TSX when the Euro-R looks identical.

Different low speed crash regulations I think. That's why you don't see EVOs in Canada!

He said about 2 months. Which is a really long time... but I can wait.
And as for it being really expensive, I've seen the kind of money people pour into their cars here. Considering that, I don't think it's too much.

Won't that grille cut down on a lot of the airflow reaching the rad?

Gosh, hope not. Looks like it won't be worse than the stock one.

Stock is pretty well wide open save for the emblem in the middle. This one looks mostly closed off.

Most of the airflow comes from under the bumper area. I wonder up to what extent would such a grill have an influence on cooling. Would it change something for A/C as well?

Would it really change the air flow that much? I cant imagine that the airflow is changed that drastically.

although the grill airflow could cool the engine bay. Who knows, do a heat test before and after.

Do you mean just check the heat gague on the instrument panel before and after, and see how the A/C works, or is there some more scientific way to do this?

place a heat sensor placed in the engine bay, or jump out quick and use a heat gun to measure the temp. probably superficial anyways, I don't think it'll do much.

i didn't even know feels made a hood, but i doubt it's 600, esp. since it's coming from japan, me, personally, have decided not to get anything for my car and save for a rainy day.

there are two problems with the pond grill

1. it's ugly
2. it cost too much

that's more than the mugen and phase grill. crazy!

Eh, I beg to differ. I'd call the Mugen grill ugly. I just don't like how it sits so far back in the inlet/grill space. But to each his own... we can agree to disagree.

Yeah i think they are both pretty cool. The advantage of something like POND or Feels is that youd prob be one of the only people with it. The mugen is easier to get so more people have. THat said...i like both, but id take PonD or feels then mugen...money being no object

the Pond grill looks like the kenstyle grill. I wanted the Kentsyle grill but it was more expensive than the Mugen. I opted for the Mugen.

Hah, I'm guessing there is about 10-12 members here w/ Mugen grills. And almost all owners are on this forum, so yeah, not rare here, but way rare everywhere else.
