planning the 1st DIY mod.!
i'm planning to remove the intake resonator this sunday since my fathers not with me on the fathers day..
what tools do i need??
how many bolts are there?
plus is it possible to do it with my spare tire jack since i dont have those hugh jacks.
leave me some hints and thoughts should be very helpful coz this should be my first DIY mod..
btw i've already did some research but mostly people with pictures did they removal by the bumper way, i don't want to take my bumper off coz i'm afraid that i'll crack the plastic clips, those clips are very delicated. i will do it by taking the front wheel + front cover way.
helps NEEDED guys.. so please

I was looking at the K&N website and they have good pictured instructions on how to remove the air resonator to and entire filter to put in their Typhoon CAI.

Good Luck and let me know how it goes. I'm planning on doing this myself and dropping in a K&N replacement reusalbe filter.

She said: it's GINORMOUS!
once you open the filter box for the oem air filter, you'll see how SMALL that air inlet is. i personally don't think it accomplishes much unless you drill a bigger opening.
i've since put back on my resonator, my $0.02

I installed a Injen CAI last night, but went out to Autozone and bought a set of 4ton jacks for $25.00. Well worth the safety!! As far as the clips, I ended up removing about a quarter of my bumper to get to the dreaded lower bolt holding the resonator. The clips are very easy to remove, just use a flat head screwdriver. Pop the top part of the clip and they just come out. Keep track of them. Also there are several small bolts to remove in and around the wheel well, use the 10mm socket for those and one phillips screw to remove from the corner of the bumper inside the wheel well. Pulling back the front part of the wheel well is a must, but also pulling the end of the bumper out really gave us the access to the low bolt from underneath. The bumper and wheel well was actually pretty easy to remove and put back on. BTW I had two other people helping, holding the bumper out while someone else removed the bolts. Big thing is to be safe!! Have fun and good luck with your mod. Love my Injen CAI, it sounds great!!
