OK so it was brought up that maybe if we proactivly approach Hondata about reflashing the 07's with a huge list of people then things might move along a little faster on their end and all of us who got 07's wouldn't have a chip on our shoulder about the whole issue.

I'm going to offically start the list... please just copy and paste the list with the names above you... this could get messy if we start quoting peoples quotes and so on.


Also, we need a volunteer to be our offical rep to Hondata... I would but I've called them about 6 times in the last 6 months and I think they remember me cuz I'm a pain in the ass when I ask about the reflash and why it hasn't happend yet. Someone let us know who will lead us to victory... our very own William Wallace so to speak. Hopefully with enough interest Hondata will be forced to crack it or else have a large group of unhappy potental customers.

i think if and when hondata is ready to do it, they'll do it or announce it. i wouldn't keep calling or annoying them about it b/c they're their own company and they probably have a whole pipeline of projects that have more priority than a 07 TSX reflash.

that said, i'm probably more interested if they could just confirm 'yes, we're working on the reflash' or 'no, it'll never happen.' because if it's the latter, than i can focus on saving money and finding an old ecu. if it's the former, i'll just wait.

but i'll add my name to the list. if nothing, it'll at least show there is interest in it. i think this list would have to be pretty big to even catch their attention, but hey, who knows.

im pretty sure u can do an 06 ecu swap and get the reflash like that

only problem with that is the '07 owners would probably lose TPMS, and who knows what else.

i've said it about 30 times and i'll say it again... when i asked both acura and hondata about it they both said it would be the stupidest thing ever done. You would lose basically EVERYTHING on the car because of how its set up now... they redid a lot of the electrical with the new ecu so it wouldn't just be limited to TPMS. If you were trying to make a racecar... sure no loss there.. however for the rest of us the option of an 06 ecu is pretty much out of the question.

well I would love to get the reflash. I just don't know how financially and physically possible it is for me to do that. Finding a shop and not having a car for a couple days is a huge problem for me. The money I could get if my gf didn't have such expensive tastes.....

well whatever shop you end up doing... they can order you a new ecu to send in to be reflashed and just swap it after. that way you can drive the car still. some shops will even give you a loaner ecu if they are nice.

how many people do you think we'd need to turn this into hondata and possibly make an impact on them trying to do it or at least give us a straight answer???

My guess is we'd need to get at least 25 or so, just to get them to take notice. That's only $15k. Plus our list doesn't differentiate between manual and automatic, so that would be twice the work for them, since they'd have to crack 2 separate ecus.

Just as a comparison, the hondata owners unite thread shows 42 people that have purchased the reflash for the tsx so far.

i would say it would have to be over 25. 25 ppl at $600/person is only $15K. that's not much money when you consider the time, labor, etc...that needs to put into reprogramming, testing, etc...

assuming the ECU for the 08s didn't change, that may work to our advantage. more ppl with the same car/ECU may mean greater demand for tuners/modders.
