Question Love the Injen CAI+RSM install issues

Hi ladies and gents,

Yesterday I had my 6MT 2004 Accord Euro on the dyno after installing the Comptech Short shift, and came out with 154.5HP at the wheels. It was stock at the time with the crappy 16"'s we get here. You know I really wish I knew the differences between the K24A2 and A3.

So today I was about to install the Hondata Heatshield gasket I bought through Evasive Motorsport only to find it's not right. I was unsure from the start when the picture on their website showed a gasket different to the one in JTso's install guide, and also on the Hondata website. I figured that was a website issue, so I ordered away. I had it shipped to a friend in Washington who sent it on to me here in Australia with my intake, short shift, and dry-charger.

So now I have a Hondata gasket for a RSX/Civic Si/CRV, yet I've been invoiced for a TSX gasket . I'll try to sell it to a DC5 owner here. And find another store to order the genuine TSX gasket from online.

But I didn't let that get me down so instead today I installed the polished Injen CAI with a BMC double cone filter, and did JTso's throttle coolant bypass mod...I must say i'm positively in love with WOT now!!!!! . Not to mention the awsome throw of the short shift that matches my timing perfectly.

Before the CAI when I launched from 3000-3500rpm I got some wheel hop, now I get shitloads!!!! Time for a suspension upgrade I think.

I've got plenty of pics, and vids just that I don't know where to host the vid's and I'm sure you're all familliar with the sound of an Injen equipped K24 wheel hopping it's way off the start to WOT redline shifts

Oh and I also tried to have an Apex'i RSM and G-Sensor installed. Unfortunately the pin-out diagram I got from the defi website for the CL9 didn't seem to work according to the guy who was doing my install.

Have any of you successfully wired either one of these or a VTEC controller to your ECU, and if so can you tell me what wire's to crimp to..ie pin location and color.

Thanks guys!

I think we just established the official HP testing criteria.

Hahaha yup It's not the most accurate measure...nor the most friendly way to establish any gains from a mod, but it sure is a teeth chattering indication of some gain. I'm looking forward to getting it back on the dyno this week to see what gains the CAI has given to my povo, less feature packed TSX on a diet

Honestly?

My butt dyno as guys around here refer to it couldn't tell any difference below 3000rpm. To me it feels like it pulls as hard low down as without the CAI, but once you open the throttle a little more it really begins to pull much harder than stock.
It seems to have the same overtaking thrust in 6th from 2500rpm @ 100kmh (60mph) without downshifting until hitting 3000rpm or so and then an improvement is evident.

And you know the strangest thing of all? You can fell a notable weight difference without that nasty big resonator, air filter box, and standard intake piping.

Here's a link to the vid. Fingers crossed it works as I'm a newb:

Still hoping for some help on my RSM wiring to the ECU.

...Maybe I should hunt for a different installer.

Yeah, my sister was holding the camera and she hadn't expected or experienced it before, hence she cracked up!

Wheel hop like that's something I don't want to make a habit of!

Yeah well i imagine it's not easy for a front seat passenger to damp out the shakes having to lean over like that

Believe me I'm very envious of the TSX gauge cluster. I'd love to be able to swap my Euro one out for the Canadian TSX gauges, and bezel/fascia.

I wonder if the BMC filter makes any difference in HP. I know there is a big difference in price!

Dunno if its worth it, but a good dyno run between the stock injen filter and the BMC would be nice.

Yeah.....even bigger difference in Australia. Looking at about $215AUD delivered for the BMC (which is currently $170USD) versus $89 in the US correct? We really get shafted down here......

I might just do a comparison for you guys. I haven't tried the Injen capped K&N filter that came with it yet, but I imagine it'll be a little quieter than the BMC. Can my baby handle 2 dyno runs in the one afternoon totalling 6 pulls? Yeah I think so. I hope so!

Yea, thats about the price I've seen. That would be awesome of you. I need to clean my filter here pretty soon, so it would be nice to know if there are any real gains out of the BMC
