Labor for coilovers?
I went to Acura today and asked how much they would charge to put in my coilovers. They said 74.50 an hour, but needed to see the coilovers in order to tell the amount of time to do it in. I got the buddy clubs, anyone know how long it should or could take to do a swap? I would think that it can't take too long.

My suggestion is DO not get any modification done at dealership. They are not familiar with modification. Why pay more and for something that is not any better than other garage?

It's funny, I just went to the dealership today and talked to one of the mechanics. He said he'd do it for 150.00 on the side. Not too bad, plus he's a certified tech for Acura, so he "should" know what he's doing.

That's why I initially took it to Acura, but why pay acura itself 74.00 an hour when I can pay the same guy who's gonna do it anyways after he gets off work a flat 150.00 Pretty fair price to me! I agree with trusting no one. Too many kids running shops out here with their broken ass cars. I'll stick with those who know how.
Maybe I'll get him to swap out my valve cover for me too. Get the JDM cover and wheels tomorrow via UPS, can't wait. I don't think I'm gonna sleep tonight!

You better have some pics of those wheels and valve cover up tomorrow! What color are the Advans?
And how hard is it to remove the valve cover yourself? Looks like an easy job to me. But if its free, can't complain.

Not too sure how hard the valve cover would be, but I know nothing about cars. Advans are silver. My car is SSM. Went with the Nitto NT-555 this time around for rubber, maybe try Bridgestones next. I wish my damn coilovers were here already so I can get it all done at once, that would be the shit! Now where's that damn UPS guy at?

I'll remember that acc if I need it. I am actually thinking of making a trip out there soon anyways. Trying to get to a new facility and Austin is looking good.

Got my wheels and valve cover today, along with spoon lugs, spoon resevoir covers, spoon radiator cap, along with JDM spark plug cover. I think the spoon lugs are gonna work, not as tapered looking as I thought. I am waiting for my coilovers to get in so I can get all the work done, but if anyone wants pics of them just lying around I can do that too, providing someone wants to host them. The wheels are light as hell, it's unbelievable. I'm too excited, where's my damn coilovers???? These guys are slow sometimes!

Here are the pics sorry for the long delay I had to attend a wedding which I was not thrilled about, but you have to do those things whether you want to or not.
18X8 Advan Kreuzer Series X wheel
JDM valve cover and sparkplug cover
Can't wait to see those on your car CMF. I am looking at wheels that are like that.

CCColticehockey--thanks for hosting those for me, much appreciated.
Never forgot about the exhaust, check the thread...these guys like dorking people around when they know you're serious.
Wheels are Advan Kreuzer Series X, 18X8 +45, cost $510.00 each wheel. Picked them up through Shinestreet.com, talk about a long wait. Almost two months to get them form Japan.
It's still amazing how lite they are. Can't wait to get them on and take it for a spin.
I thought I'd throw in a pic with the cover on the wheels because no one else packs them like that, at least any wheel I've ever ordered.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys!

That's all I need is the damn coilovers. One day they're on a boat, the next day it's the container should be leaving soon. WTF. I ordered the wheels and coilovers on the same day, granted from different shops, but man....I could have sailed a boat myself to Japan to have gotten that shit by now. I need to have patience I guess! Just getting a little excited to see the finished product!

As soon as the coilovers arrive at least in the US I will put on the wheels, that way I know it will only be like one or two more weeks max to lower it. I don't think the car will look right on 18's at stock ride height.

went with the Nitto NT555 this time. 225/40/18. Hope I like them. Worse comes to worse I'll go get a set of bridgestones later...thought I'd try these out first though, got a good buy.
