too bad he won't ship the item, because it is an awesome price for a full bumper replacement.

The Modulo body kit is the ONLY body kit I've ever given more than half a second of consideration into equipping. It's the same one used on the prototype A-SPEC TSX.

I had considered bidding on it and painting it SSM, since it needs to be painted anyway with the scratches, but I was concerned that it did not come with a grill. I think, but have never been able to confirm, that this bumper ships with its' own proprietary grill, with a different lower profile than all the other grills available for the CL7/CL9. It looks much flatter on the bottom than the stock one.

Here's a pic of the Voltage bumper on the SEMA TSX A-Spec concept car; they built a one-off Acura grill for this, but notice the lower profile......

Vs the standard grill profile.....

Hard to say without popping one in, could just be the angle of the pics.

So you may have to hunt down the Modulo grill. In any event you got a tremendous deal; the whole kit shipped from Japan (bumper/grill/fogs/harness) is $1800+, and that was before gas prices/shipping went soaring

Lance, I offered to pick it up for him and ship it, but I haven't heard from him though. No idea how the hell I'm going to ship it though...any ideas. I originally was going to bring it to the UPS store by the Stop and Shop near CCSU, but there was a note on the auction that said UPS and FedEx won't ship it.

As long as he can point me in the right direction and I reimburse me, this should work out ok. I figured that you guys have helped me out so much on the forum, especially you Lance, that the least I could do was help out a fellow member.

UPS and FedEx have a maximum shipment size of 165", which is calculated as length + 2X width + 2X height. They bill this size out as a minimum of 90lbs, even if it doesn't weigh 90lbs. I guessed 50lbs but it doesn't matter what is weighs for this rate to be close.....

It's gonna be really tight; my stock bumper measures about 68" long, 28" wide and 20" high; a box that size would just make their cutoff. It also wouldn't give much protection to the bumper.

Let me know if you need any help with this; I wouldn't mind checking this thing out.

Oh, another thing, I just ran the quote again with $2000 worth of insurance and it came up with $91, which you should definately get, because if this thing breaks it will cost that much to get another one to replace it........

yea, this is getting more complicated as the sell says it will be at least 72x26x26 in a box, which fedex/ups/dhl wont take unless I am willing to pay about 600-800 for shipping. I found a local shiper that can do it for 200 but after talking to the seller he does not accpet paypal this this is sorta unconfortable for me. I am going to have to ponder this and get firm dimitions/weight from the seller

Yeah, the dimensions I came up with would leave the bumper very vulnerable in the box, and the barely met the requirements.

Truck for $200 seems reasonable since it is going basically cross country. Our shop just paid $86.00 for a shipment from PA to CT; not very heavy but was over the 165"......

Uncomfortable because he doesn't take Paypal or because of how much the shipping is? I do not know the seller personally so I can't vouch for him but I do know a couple people who bought from him and were happy with the condition of the merchandise. His eBay feedback is good.....

I have bought from him on several different occasions and had a good experience each time. Never had any problems with him at all. In my opinion very reliable guy.

I'm glad someone from the forum won the bumper. Can't wait to see pics of it on your ride. Have you looked into DHL. Maybe they won't have a max.

Is the box for this going to be bigger than the box for the OEM front lip?
I got my frontlip shipped to me via Fedex Ground.

In order to fit that bumper, the box is gonna have to be similar to the one I got my kit in. Maybe like 6-12" shorter if anything. The length and the width will have to be the same size as the box in my pic though. No way around it! They don't make envelopes that big

I was thinking two boxes on each end and taped in the middle. I can do 205 shipped from TSI freight. I just need to work out the numbers

The box is way huge! They had to use a special truck to deliver it. Have you ever had your bumper off before? It is a pretty big piece.

My niece (5) and nephew (3) saw the box and all they wanted to do was make a club house out of it. Thats all they asked about the next few times I stopped by to see them.

You think we can fold the seats down in the TSX and fit it in there? Just a thought....couldn't do that in a TL

Or do you think my wife's WRX wagon would be a better idea?

I bid on this same bumper maybe a month ago, but lost. I wonder what happened.
