Intake Kit

Hi,

I am new to Acura-TSX.com
I also might get the 2004 tsx around June. Any-how, I was looking at these intake kits, and I was wondering. Why is the Mugen intake kit $950.00. I mean, is it even any better than K&N ect. Thanks again!

I'm sure most of what you are paying for is the name...not too sure about differences in gain of power though!

I've never seen a dyno for the Mugen but it can't be that much different than the Injen. You should get a K&N or an Injen and spend the rest of the money on other mods.

The box is made of carbon fiber....
It uses a flat filter, not a cone.

i like some mugen items. but 950 for an intake? oh hell no. i always thought people were crazy when they bought civic or integra mugen intakes for 600, but 950 for us? no thanks.

yea, it's only the box that is carbon fiber. and i'm not to what gaines to expect. wonder if spoon has an intake.

For $950 it had better be plated in 24k gold!

Is a really cheap Intake like APC or something just as good as the better name brands? I mean, there are both just tubes with a filter on the end, right? Also, how much do the filters cost to replace? More than the OEM filter?

Thanks everybody, so if I were to get the tsx, i would go for an K&N intake. Well I was talking to a buddy of mine who gots the 2003 Lexus IS300 E-Shift Limited edition fully loaded for 28,900. Now he told me he could get that price for me for a 2004 brand new. (He knows one of the top sales personal) Do you guys think it is a better pick for the price rather than the 2004 ACURA TSX auto non navi?
Thanks in Advance

one of my friend has tried 3 diff intakes on his S2000 (he's just crazy ), the last intake he got is the Mugen one, owell, he said that the HP gain difference is not that noticeable but definitely "way more smooth" when gasing the car, even compared to AEM V2...interested huh!

There are dynos to back it up. Injen looks like it provides somewhere in the area of 12hp but I am going to dyno my car before and after the install to verify.
