Hondata Question
THIS QUESTION IS PERFERIBLY FOR HONDATA, BUT ANYONE WITH OPINION AND KNOWLEDGE APPLIES TOO: AT AJ-RACING.COM THERE IS AN ENGINE UPGRADE OF CAMS, PISTONS, ETC. OF THE INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5R). IN ORDER TO GET THE REDLINE FROM 7100RPM TO 8600RPM AND V-TEC POINT DOWN FROM 6200RPM TO 5800RPM I WOULD NEED EITHER AN INTEGRA OR TSX ECU REFLASH. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY THERE ARE A FEW TSX'S WITH THE K20A2 IN, BUT THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE HONDATA REFALSH BECAUSE OF THE DRIVE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM.
QUESTION 1: IF I HIT THE LOTTERY AND HAVE ENOUGH MONEY: CAN I BUY THE INTERNALS BUT NOT BUY THE HONDATA REFLASH (ALTHOUGH THERE ISN;T ONE TO BUY EVEN IF I WANTED TO) AND STILL GET SOME GAINS AND BUY THE REFLASH WHEN IT COMES OUT?
QUESTION 2: WILL A FULLY PROGRAMMABLE ITR REFLASH WORK?
QUESTION 3: IS THERE ANYWAY TO DISABLE DRIVE-BY-WIRE AND USE A REGULAR WIRE AND USE THE ITR REFLASH?
QUESTION 4: JUST FOR CURIOSITY: WHEN IS SHOULD WE START EXPECTING TO HAVE A TSX REFLASH? SO I CAN START SAVING.
THANKS IN ADVANCE, CRIS

you might better better answers if you formatted your post better and got your caps lock key unstuck.
I don't know the answers to your question, but you sound like you're better off w/ a RSX than a TSX, time to trade in?

Answer to #1: Do whatever you want with your money. There is a load of parts out there to put in it. Even pistons are out there from JE (haha, I do have the inside info).
Answer to #2: You can't exactly take the RSX-S ECU and slap it in for your K24-equipped car. There's more to it than just taking someone's flashed RSX 'puter. They have different ECM codes (different boxes). Very different mapping.
Answer to #3: Hell no. (Not feasibly, at least.) Don't screw with that at all. I'm warning you.
Answer to #4: It's coming VERY soon.
Do you guys here me out there? Yes, Cris, I am a very reputable source. I'll make that one clear up front. If you've wanted a little more juice out of your K24, help is on its way. Yes, it is a specific application for the ECU of the TSX. Yes, I will have more info as it comes. Don't bother trying to bug me to death. Hundreds of you guys are already wanting. I'll keep everyone posted, as I've said a bunch of times.

xizor: i looked at the rsx-s but need 4 doors/4 useable seats
kurt: thanks for all your help. my friend and i were thinking that a tsx with an 8600 RPM redline would be awsome. It will suprise unsuspecting 3.5 Altima's, IS300, etc. I don't have enough money to acutally do any of the stuff mentioned above (have to pay for college) just installed Injen CAI (cheapest mod i can think of that will get some WHP from it). I read the whole Hondata Petition and want to say thanks for all your doing and your help with the HONDATA when it finally comes out. And you do know everything

Keep this in mind when you are thinking of raising your redline.
Designed by Sakuji Arai, known inside Honda as the father of the four-cylinder, the TSX's 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC has a balance shaft that revs upward of 14,000 rpm. Think that's outrageous? Arai's goal is to hit 18,000, which is F1 territory.

2 ECU n00b questions
1) Any idea how long it would take Hondata to make a reprogrammable one which you can hook a laptop up to?
2) How exactly do you go about changing the redline? I'm assuming you can only do this w/ a piston upgrade, since I thought the redline is there so you don't melt your stock ones?

I got good news from Jeramy about Hondata ECU today....
"I have gotten word that work will begin soon, but no date has been set on a release. I expect 2-3 months though from previous experience. I have a database going that I will mail to anytime I find out new info and I will come to your website when the time gets closer"

And another info I got is:
"As far as Toda goes, Hondata develops all of the programming that they offer, so either way, the software will come from the same place."
