Hondata Dyno and info for potential so cal customers
Well, I'm happy to say I was officially the 1st tsx customer to be reflashed lol. I had a lot of fun and learned alot spending some quality time with el presidente of hondata. I haven't driven hard as the streets are too crowded during the day for reckless driving. I am also mad tired from lack of sleep. I will talk about it more later, but here is the dyno i promised for now. As for power upgrades, my car only has injen cai.
Special note to potential so cali buyers, so cali users do not have to ship their ecu's in for reflash. Any one near torrance can reflash in 2 1/2 hours at:
Epic Motoring
20926 Normandie Ave.
Torrance, CA 90502
Call Matt Parker at (310) 809 - 7357 for availability
Just letting you so cali people who either want to get it done now or not mess with taking out the ecu. LoL, i dethroned whoever that kept bragging about having the most hps for now until someone with header and intake gets reflash.

ah crap, cant see anything, i'll worry about it later, going to sleep now, peak power is at 196.7 with only injen cai compare to the 210.1 hondata got with header and intake.

I zoomed in a bit and here are the highlights.
2500 rpms + 12lb ft
6000 rpms + 20lbft
4 peak hp gain at 7000 rpms. Lowered from 7100 rpms.
torque peak now at 3800 rpms lowered from 4500.
Overall amazing results for those that just have an intake!
Just what I was looking for. Negates the loss of low end torque(and then some) and still gives a very solid top end gain. I like. Might have to get myself an injen now.

I know its a lot to ask but, those of you who get the reflash, could you keep track of your fuel economy and see if it makes any difference? Its a lot to ask because with the reflash you guys (and gals) will no doubt live much closer to 7600rpm.

It's at the hubs which is neither wheel horsepower nor flywheel horsepower. Dynapacs work by taking the wheels off and using an adapter to connect to the wheel hubs.

it looks like the same dyno that hondata had the other tsx done at, so now we can compare what it does with injen and with comptech parts. also i believe i read that it takes about 4 or so runs to have the ecu and car completely on the same page, so maybe after aweek of driving the gains will be better.

I like the fact that with hondata you have more torque at 2k rpms then you did with just the intake at 3000.

They say a dynapack dyno reads 10hp higher than a dynojet so using that logic, taewlee's car with just the CAI and no reflash put out 182hp. That's too low to be flywheel hp so if you add 15% for driveline loss you end up with 209.3hp which makes sense.
Then if you take the reflash at 196.7hp - 10hp for the dynapack and add 15% you end up with 214.7hp at the flywheel. Also a reasonable number if you look at the graph.

Now I just need to work out my mod strategy and justification speech to Mrs. 05_TSX_GP... heck, lots of time to work on those, car's still too green... maybe leave it bonestock for rest of '05...

church automotive still needs to change their dyno to avoid confusion.
Dan you should subtract percentage from the bigger number(it will give you a different result) shouldn't it?

definitely. It' snot about peak like we were talking about in that other thread.
Now You can shoot high and say you want I/H and hondata nd if she gives you flak tell you you would settle for an intake and hondata.

justification of ms. 05_tsx_gp better mas milage and more power in emergency situations.....
and i would take a wide flattened torque and hp curve over a peaky curve anyday

Regardless, the gain over just the CAI is impressive. And yes 05_TSX_GP, the peak power isn't what you're going for with this mod. Having that extra 30hp available on every upshift is just

Quick observation: comparing the injen only dynapac to the all stock dynapac on hondatas page the low end torque with just an injen really gets Taewlees baseline at 2700rpm reads about 15lbft less than a stock one at the same level!(different cars so not entire relatable, but interesting at least)

I now wonder if virtualbong can keep to his words of keeping the stock quietness till next Summer (that's what he said, right?) I think his is 5AT but then reflash for that must be out very soon anyway.
Now back to subject somewhat I am really very impressed with the improvement Hondata reflash can make Would it so happen that some engineer from Honda actually lurks around these sites? Can he/she answer why Honda doesn't tune the ECU to do this in the first place???

I wonder how much epic motor sports loves hondata? Same day reflashing pretty much can't be beat. I'll for sure be making the trip from san diego when it's time.

Makes sense.
So it looks as though the Comptech header is good for an extra 10HP.
