HKS Super Mega Flow intake

Hi

Is anyone using the HKS Super Mega Flow intake on their TSX/Euro? I'll probably fit a custom stainless steel intake pipe attached to the HKS Super Mega Flow intake.

Just want something a little different to Injen or AEM and just wanted to see if anyone has experience with this product.

Thanks

I just get a kick out of the name..."super mega flow". Its not only mega flow, its super mega flow. If they optimize the design any further will it be super duper mega flow?

sorry, back to being serious....

So, what is it, just a filter that you need to fab an arm for?

<-- too lazy to google right now.

Yeah basically that's it. I'll post pics when it's done for opinions plus give a write up on my thoughts of it.

Stay tuned.

i think super mega flow may actually be too much flow. do they make just a regular mega version for people who do not demand so much flow?

last time I looked for some super mega flow I popped some fiber tabs.....

Seriously though if you have a CAI than I can see the point, but to just attach this thing to the stock air tube under the hood wont improve anything over stock other than some additional noise like a SRI creates. Also, what makes this flow better than a K&N or any other high flowing filter?

I guess no other filter is super mega, they are just super or mega alone but not both. lol

metal is a good conductor of heat, try a diff material like plastic or even some ceramic coating

I don't think it's possible to fit the HKS air filter to the stock tube and you're right you wouldn't want to do this. Basically it would be a custom CAI or Short Ram air tube with the HKS air filter, so replacing the stock and as godfather2 points out probably in a plastic or ceramic material.

actually i have the Super Mega Flow air filter prior to getting my Injen CAI. I had it for about a year and i just used the stock tubing for the filter. its fits snugly into it and to hold it you can either use a clamp or just used a small hair scrunchy, the wire type.

and has for performance, its gives a deep growl. sounds stock if your driving normally but once you past 4k and on, its deep and loud. you do feel a little bit of performance once your in the higher rpms but not that many gains.

^ unfortunately, tsx owner won't feel too much of a gain with intake alone, as is. as for auto drivers, it'll be a bit less. don't be discouraged if an intake doesn't snap you back in your seat. coupled with some choice mods (header, cat, hondata, etc.) you'll definately build up a swift ride
