HELP! icebox installation

I am confused as to what Step #2 (b) is saying. http://www.comptechusa.com/store/med...icebox2005.pdf . Can someone please clarify this for me? I already installed my icebox but just happened to realize I totally skipped this step, is it absolutely necessary? Thanks in advance!

Nah he is talking about step 2(b) - it removes the factory air inlet that connects to the resonator. It isn't a very large piece.

You don't need to do this step - I certainly didn't when installing the icebox.

If you've removed the resonator then you're golden.

Got it! I removed the resonator, the inlet tube was actually attached to the resonator when I yanked it out. Does anyone have a clue as to where the stock inlet tube was sucking in the air from in the first place? Is the stock inlet tube connected to some other piece behind the front bumper?

it actuallly comes back up and there is a pipe right next to the bottom left of the battery where air is sucked in from

So what's the verdict on the Icebox? Are you owners happy with the gains?

I'd be lying if I said I could feel gobs power right away. I think it may pull better but my butt dyno is not very accurate. I do feel a noticealbe difference in throttle response and the tone under acceleration is also to my liking. Overall, yes, I'm happy with the gains.

with just the icebox and dc header I am pleased with the performance gains - while not life changing, the car does pull a little harder, and revs a little faster. It did make the car more fun to drive, with those items and the RSB its very fun to drive, albeit, its still a slow car.
