Hawk HPS vs Hawk Ceramic

Hello. I have a problem of decision.

I choose between these pads.
Wich of them stop the car better?
One user told me that he found that the ceramic stopped TSX better than HPS.

Wich of them stop the car better at winter?
And wich of them need less time to reach an working temperature?

My parts retailer, who sells Hawk like crazy, considers the HPS to be a better pad for stopping, etc... but the ceramics have an advantage in that they dust less (or lighter colour at least) so less rim cleaning is required.

I've used the HPS before and they were great. This wasn't on a TSX (it was a 1991 Integra) but the difference over OEM was great!

I think that the main purpose of brake pads is "to brake" ;-)

Yeah but there are better pads than the HPS to "brake"... the HP+ within the same Hawk lineup, for example, is a step higher than the HPS.

The HPS should be just fine in winter. Why would you think otherwise?

IMHO HP+ is an overkill for everyday use.

Well i`ve read somewere that HPS need some time to reach operational temperature. And what about Ceramic? They also need time to reach it? And how much time will it take in compare with HPS?

Contact Hawk. I already said that HPS had the advantage in stopping power from what I'm told by a very knowledgeable person in the industry.

My experience with them is they need no extra "warm up" time compared to OEM, and I live in an area that gets COLD in the winter on occasion.

The reference to HP+ was that you are making a silly argument over the sole purpose of a pad is to brake. Of course it is, but there are always tradeoffs.

Silly... hmm not sure. I can not get why to buy Ceramic if the only advantage in front of HPS is low dust and long life.

But if to compare, the time needed to stop from 60 mph to 0 mph on ceramic pads and hps is seriously different ?
