front grill chrome 'wing'

Anyone know how to remove the chrome painted 'wing' part around the Acura symbol on the front grill?

I want to have my emblem 'floating' in the center, without the wings. I played with it today, and the chrome piece seems to be an insert.

no its an insert cause my grill was chipping and i got it replaced under warranty. i thought they were going to replace the whole thing and it just turned out to be the wing, there should be screws behind it holding it in place.

Just take off the grille and there are screws behind that center part. Remove the screws and take it somewhere to be painted. nh655m is the code but it is hard to find. I just had it matched because the places I went to couldnt find the code in their system.

Yes, it's held on the by tiny little screws. Take off the grill and have it painted if you want, like TSX420J mentioned.

Yes! That's what i wanted. I liek ot have the logo 'floating'.

Do I have to take the grill out, or can I take the cover over the top of it off to get behind it? I could almost fell the bumps in the places that the picture shows the screw positions.

Yes I read alot. But oyu didn't explain if I had to remove the grill or not. I might not paint it. Just take the wing part out. Why remove the whole grill if it's not necessary.

Alrighty. Just tried to remove the grill wing. It's held on by 3 screws on each side.

I was looking to remove the wing part and not replace it. I can see now that your wing is painted and reattached. I thought you had the area behind the wing painted! heheh

Still looks good tho. I might get it done if I can find someone to match the paint up.
