did you get the back window tinted? Will it damage the back heated window if the tint is ever removed?

 

if ever removed; the un-installer would have to take care of not damaging the defroster lines.

this accomplished by using heat and peeling the tint off. NO KNIVES!!!!!! or anything sharp

 

^Heat is key here...I parked my vehicle with the back windshield facing the sun and let it sit for a couple hours. Started peeling at the top corner and it came off in one sheet. Cleaned what residue was left behind and was done (Its NOT always that easy!)

 

How much? My tint is pealing on the front two windows. They are folded over at the top and make a plastic bag-like sound when ever the window is rolled all the way up or down and if they are just open then the wind makes the sound unbearable. Seriously sounds like a plastic bag blowing in the wind.

Anyway, it started pealing last year. My mom smokes, and its her old car. She drove and smoked in it for 4 years and I guess the tint started pealing off from the heat coming close/ touching the edge of the window when dumping the cigarette ashes.
Pisses me off cause she wont get the car re-tinted, so I will. She really needs to stop smoking. Its bad for her and it's embarrassing seeing all the ashes all over the car.

Anyway, how much did it cost?

 

^timmy, there are a lot of options for tint.
so, one could not answer your question of "how much".

there are tons of different brands and there are tons of different material of tint.
the better the material of the tint, the costlier the tint cost.

I chose a ceramic material with the brand Huper Optik.
I believe that this is one of the best tint available.
and I paid a pretty penny for it.

 

I did Huper Optik all around and I'm very happy with it.

 

In my opinion tint shouldn't be over 200 or its just overpriced. Usually it's around 150-200 with lifetime warranty. I live in Philadelphia so it costs 150 for life. It really depends where you are. I'd say about 100 for just the tint without life

 

Make sure they're using a quality tint brand. This helps reduce the risk of your tint turning purple. As for it peeling, make sure you go to a shop that does tint with lifetime warranty.
