Finally got Comptech Ice Box & RSB

i wasnt going to do any performance mod since i played enough with my previous accord but simply could not resist the addiction.

ice box butt dyno result: with injen cai on my accord, i was able to feel little harder pull but with this ice box it doesnt feel any better than stock intake. also it was quieter than expected. should've opted for injen cai.

rsb: definitely turn in is sharper and neutral. car became more nimble. compared stock rsb with comptech rsb and stock looks like toothpick compared to comptech.

future mod: dc header is very tempting. also new set of rims. Enkei RPM2. i think mesh styled rims really look good on tsx.

I don't think it's supposed to give that much, like 5 hp at the high end. Can you tell 5 more HP from the ol' butt dyno?

Maybe it's my imagination, but I did a drop-in K&N filter, and I think I can feel an extra 2 or 3 HP!

Seriously, I looked at the stock filter box, and it doesn't look so bad to me. I think I'll remove the resonator and try that. The vtec.net guys said that they got 5hp just from resonator removal. I like the sound of that.

while you're at it, dremel out the fins on the stock airbox.

.5hp gain with smoother airflow....hehe.

i have a feeling that just taking off resonator and pluging in some plumbing pipe from home depot will give similar result.

washed k&n filter while doing a ice box install. completely dried today so i reoiled it. waiting for oil to settle down a bit. guess i'll put it in after work tomorrow.

Comptech has better throttle tip-in but injen has better top-end. For this reason, I'm probably will be going for the Comptech since I have a 5AT. I need that initial getup and go, since ATs can't modulate our power as well as a clutch and accelerator.

The difference in torque with the Icebox is minimal except in certain portions of the revband. I'm not sure how much you would feel, but I believe you need a couple of full throttle runs to get the computer to figure out its getting more air (you need this with any intake). I would do this before I pass judgement on the butt dyno.

I like those rims but how much do they weigh? It might be counterproductive to put on some heavy wheels if your are trying to feel 5 horses out the Icebox.

Weight is stated on the specs of enkei webpage. Just click on my link.

Look for a thread by Peter_Bigblock. Peter did just that and posted a "how to" with pictures.

I SEE....and I like. If you stay at 17s you save a grip of weight...nice in hyper-black as well.

That's just it, I didn't see any big fins like y'all have been describing. It looks like what I see as pictures of the icebox?! I have an '05.... Maybe they changed something? (Before '06! )
