Anybody installed a hood like this one?

That hood looks like it has some quality problems. There are visible scratches and the weave of the CF is pretty wavey. If you were to paint it it would probably be ok.

Anyone know how much our stock one weighes? Maybe InspireS does since he's the only CF hood I've seen?

 

vis racing makes a better hood. it's a grade a hood. that ebay hood is nasty. especially around the grill area, it's really wavey. check out vis.

 

just feel the need to say this: if you get a cf hood, please paint it. thank you.

 

why paint it. if you are trying to save weight wouldn't yoube better off not painting it?

 

I think people are pretty divided about the CF hood look. I think it looks good on certain color cars (White, check out InspireS's pics of the RSX, TSX and S2K). But if someone is getting the CF hood just for looks, its just for posing, save yourself the money. I'd really like to see the weight difference of the hoods to see if there is any real-world gains in buying one.

 

Do not get that hood. I got one ofr my Integra from them and the latch SUCKED

I'm assuming that they're selling the import fan hood btw

 

it's just a personal thing for me. i don't support unpainted carbon fiber hoods, especially on classier cars such as the TSX. i used to like it back when i first got into imports, but now i it's just ugh to me.

 

Quality does not look too good.

 

yeah most people hate the Carbon fiber hoods that are just black. If I got one I would definetly paint it. My car would look gay with silver and then a black hood.

check out some of the Japense Euro-R fan sites. unpainted CF hoods must be a big thing over there because everyone has it.

 

Hell yeah man lol. Everyone over there and even here people have it. It's just that some cars look kind of gay without it being painted and some people just do it for the look.

 

i dunno, SSM looks ok w/ a CF hood

I wouldn't trust any hood sold on ebay IMO.
