DC header installed

So i finally completed the Intake/header/exhaust pacakge, and all i can say is WOW.

The mid-range pull is defintely there, i feel my car defintely has more power.

I took it to a local shop for the install, and i coudlent be more pleased.

On my way home i punched it, next to a teenager in a silver tsx, and he had to wave me over and ask about "my muffler" (thought thats where all the noise came from)

I told him i had everything , and to check out online sites...

lately i have been reading about issues with the headers..and i have 2 questions

first, if a problem does occur (i do have the newer manufactured headers), will i notice it, and is it that harmful to drive with the issue....

second , would the header have to be removed for fixing....

i dont do my installs, and having the aftermarket header removed to be fixed, then put back on would cost me, both times...so just wondering.

Eventually i might just change to comptech in a few months or so either way..but just wondering.

As of now, im going to be positive, and hope for the best, as i am very happy with the results.

P.S., just ordered my bodykit

Yes you willnotice it! I'm sure there will be a very loud exhaust leak!

And yes you will have to remove it to reweld it!

Thats why everyone that buys a DC header should just pay to get it it welded before it gets installed to be sure.

Well its the newer version, so the welding issue is fixed, but now the flex pipe problem that others ? ill try not to worry about it though. Worst comes to worse, ill have to pay to have the stock put back on, get refuneded for the DC header and just dish out for the comptech down the line..

but ill keep positive....

I'm guessing 3 reasons. Price, performance, and it doesn't happen to them.

Maybe Fisher-Price should start making coilovers...

Well, since its the newer version , and like others said, the price, i had a go at it. Im confident i wont have any issues with the welding, but now that flex pipe problem is occuring.

like i said , worst comes to worse, ill get refunded for it.

Regardless, its one worry taken care of, but another one started.

This argument is pointless just about now. It only breaks if you think it will.

The gains are defintely there, and what is broken, can always be fixed.

The comptech isnt worth the money because the gains are practicaly nothing.. i would rather risk the header and get a huge gain then pay that kind of money for the comptech header and get half the horse power. like they said you can fix a problem and you might not even have one.

If you read the most recent test at a VTEC you'll see that the gains are there. As for the cost, you pay for what you get; Comptech is Stainless Steel and it is worth it IMO especially if you buy it from Excelerate here.

I was wrong. That is some good to know information though because im looking into buying a header in the next couple weeks and i hadnt thought of the comptech one but it looks like it is worth the money because comptech has better quality. Thanks for that info.

I'm surprised DC Sports doesn't offer a stainless steel header for the TSX. In my oppinion DC actually makes a decent header. They don't cost an arm and a leg and you get great gains from them. Maybe they're just adjusting to the K series because their B series headers were great.
