And I really don't think you want to put a giant turbo on this car.
The most boost you can run safely on the stock compression is probabably 8 psi, and that's with fuel upgrades.

Well if reving a K24 to 8k is like running a k20 to 9600...then with a built engine it is possible to get it up to 8k redline. Just because an engine can rev higher doesn't mean it will make more power. Power can drop off hard on a high reving car if it isn't modified to make power at a high RPM. On the TSX we could use a T3/T4 and make great power. Even into the 400 whp range with proper tuning. If you want to go a little larger and get a ball bearing turbo even more power is possible but I would go for a T66 or anything similar. That would just be too big to fit back by the firewall. Find out how much power you want to make before going and buying a SC/TC. After you get that figured out you can then find out what you need to accomplish that. Just my 2 cents...

I'd suspect some camshaft work would be needed to rev to 8000 rpm. No need to rev that high anyways.
A member on the CL board who has a turbo CL works for Garrett and i'm sure he could find the ideal sized turbo for the TSX with a few calculations. He did a wonderful job picking out the correct size for the CL.

Just posting to test my new avatar
Now, see the thing here is that we can all babble all we want to, but in the end, it is all just a load of bloody arse-shite-bullocks until we get some real results! I'm sure we all feel as though we're experts or have an insight that nobody understands, but I just want my sub-14 second TSX, bottom line. Alright, so, who's with me!!!? ![Racing](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/racing.gif)

First of all, about piston speeds and hi revving, how many hear are farmiliar with the term "LS-VTEC". To those that know, this is a block that originaly came with a 6600 RPM redline (90-93 Acura Integra LS) from the factory and I know of people that have done the VTEC conversion and revved this motor to 8500+ RPMs stock block and the motor lasts, not to mention that this is the most common recipe for low 12 high 11 second all motor DAILY DRIVEN hondas. Now with that in mind, a "BUILT" K24 can rev 8000+ RPMs but then again, because it is so big, the power will begin sooner in the RPM band so in actuality, you don't need to even rev it that high. Your saying that the K24 revving at 8000 RPMs is like the K20 revving at 9600 but in a turbo car, you don't even need to rev that high to make plenty of power. Im not saying that I will be revving 8000+ RPMs everyday but the fact that you say the K20 is more superior because it can rev that high, I don't agree with it. The LS motor has one of the worst rod ratios out of all the B series engines (only B20 is worst) but then why is it that the LS block the most popular engine to use? Why would I consider even using a K20 in a heavy CL body? What do you think is more important for this type of car? Torque or RPMs? All im saying is if I had a RSX Type-S and I was going to build it for All Motor then why would I even consider doing a K24 swap but in a CL9 IMO the K24 will out perform the K20 all day everyday. Imagine two TSX's, one with a K20 and one with a K24 revving the same RPMs and they raced each other. Im pretty sure the K24 will win because the K20 has less torque to get all that weight moving with. One thing about high revving motors is that their power band is so much smaller than a big motor that you really don't have as much usable power than with a bigger displacement motor, especially in a heavy car. To compare the two motors, yes I agree that the K20 has an edge over the K24. Now compare the two motors in a TSX body...I would rather go with the K24.

Mean Piston Velocity = 2 * RPM * Stroke
That's all that matters. Who cares if you start at 6600 and make it go to 8500? I'm willing to bet that the piston speeds are still not as high as on the k24.

There's too much off topic stuff going on here. I think we should maybe start a new thread to continue the discussion since this supposed to be about the comptech s/c....

back to the supercharger, after installation...what kind of maintenance does it require? Will the Acura dealers still be able to do the service intervals correctly?

I just got off the phone with Comptech, and they were dyno testing the SC as we spoke. They told me that plans are for end of March availability assuming all goes well. They're determining final boost with these runs......

how would the comptech s/c respond to an automatic tsx? i'm assuming the hp output would be the same as in the manual, just that the auto would be slightly slower just as it is in n/a. the auto has more parts to it so more to break?

Figured I post this here too:
I emailed Comptech about the SC, here was the response:
Joe,
We are expecting the TSX kit to be available May 1st. Please keep checking our website for updated and details. Thanks for considering Comptech.

hmmm okay im bringing this one back
but only for some quick questions.
now this supercharger i know will increase air being forced into the engine and also use some of its own power, which is all good for making power.
now
with the supercharger installed will i notice an increase in gas mileage? this is assuming i drive the car the same exact way i normally do now.... this is after the first few "novelty" tanks/miles.
i noticed with the CAI i got some better gas milege i would assume, which was possibly negated by the fact that i take it to redline every once n a while using more gas than it normally would have getting to redline.
so i pose my question, what are the negiative and or posivitve advantages that are not always looked at when putting one of these on....

sent an email to the tech group at comptech regarding the s/c for the tsx, got a response back today, sorry if this is a repost...
Yes testing on the TSX Supercharger kit is going very well. We are going to supply a small piggy-back type computer with the kit. It will add fuel with manifold pressure, adjust Vtec, have a Knock sensor filter, Map sensor clamp, and we hope to have CAM control with it. So you will not need injectors, fuel pump, or a fuel pressure regulator. the kit is being tuned around our Intake kit, header, and cat-back exhaust. We will also test it on the automatic TSX.
Thanks

Subject: TSX supercharger kit
Greetings,
I understand the TSX supercharger is under R&D testing and a possible release date is May 1st. I had a couple questions for you guys,
Just wondering what would be included in the kit, such as new fuel injectors, fuel pump, reprogrammed ecu, intake, etc.???
Will there be a specific supercharger kit released for the automatic TSX?
Patiently waiting for this kit!!!
Thanks again for your time in this matter.
