Carbon fiber hood hype.....well....
Unless if you're racing on a track, is carbon fiber hood worth it? I don't think so.
Using your car for a daily commute and have a carbon fiber hood to shave off a few kilos? Like the "blingness" of having a carbon fiber hood?
Let's just say that you get into a frontal crash, for example.....rear ending a large semi on a freeway.
Where do you think that big piece of strong carbon fiber going to go? Is it going to crumple and absorb all the energy to save you behind the wheel?
They will come flying at you, through the windshield, beheading you. Those engineers work long hours designing those OEM aluminum hoods, to absorb maximum energy while making it light as possible.
Why am I telling you this? There was an article in the Japanese newspaper, where a 24 year old dude rear ended an another car. Carbon fiber hood came slicing through the windshield and beheaded him.
So, before you invest in a carbon fiber hood for your tsx, think first. Is it going to crumple and prevent the sharp pieces from entering the cockpit? Is saving few kilos and looking cool worth sacrificing safety? I guess.....

Hey that's funny. I know someone who was in an accident with a c/f hood. Guess what. The hood bent and crumpled just fine. People have been claiming this for years and it's all bullshit.
