Damn those things are fast! V8 with tons of torque.

And before I get I know that it was a very stupid thing to do. I normally don't hit speeds that high. I immediately felt like a jerk-off right after. Sometimes I just get caught up in the moment though. I really need to resist next time.
...In the middle of the day??

I'm just glad you finally stretched those SC legs.

Even if he won that little race, just take solace in the fact he was getting 11 mpg the whole time.

Do you have a chance to get in front of it?? Or behind the 300 the whole time??? And are you running w/ the more powerful HEMI V8 or the regular V6?

He said the HEMI.

So you hit 144? Hmm seems like you didn't even know you were going that fast. Do you think that with the 5AT you'd be able to touch 150+ (Not asking you to try it out unless you feel like others are out of harms way)?

It was definitely the Hemi V8 300C. He had a badge in the back and also had the stock 20's. His wheels looked huge. This was in the morning, and I'm definitely not proud of the fact that I was driving that fast. Like I said above, I need to resist next time. It's very dangerous and if I get caught going at that speed they would probably take my car on the spot.

I'm thinking I could hit 150+ but it would take a little awhile to get up to speeds that high. I could feel the wind resistance, and I think that is what would limit me. I'm actually happy that I held my own against a V8. The 300C is heavy, and has big wheels, but I think it's rated at like 400 hp/ 350 tq at the crank. I was able to pull away from him a little. But in the high end he could definitely overtake me when we hit about 125 mph. There were also some curves so I was able to lose him a little on those. At that speed my TSX was actually riding really smooth. I felt very much under control. It's a big rush and you pass cars like they are standing still.

I've actually been stretching my SC legs for quite awhile now. I just don't always post about it. I smoked an 06 Civic Si last week. Left him like he was standing still. I've also taken a few CLs and Accord V6's. I can walk away from pretty much all of them on the freeway. Since my car is quiet I'm sure that the drivers are thinking WTF, how is this 4 cyclinder smoking me

After thinking about how fast I was going yesterday and realizing that my car would probably get impounded on the spot if I got caught, I think I really need to calm down. It's getting to the point that I'm getting numb to the extra speed and I feel like 90-100 mph is not very fast at all. I'm passing people going 100+ without even thinking twice. I really need to change my driving habits. I don't drive reckless and cut people off or anything, but still speed is dangerous. I was pretty good on the way to work today though. I stayed under 85 mph almost the whole time.

Get a rental for a day or two, 65mph will feel like 150 in the TSX.

More scared of the way I've been driving with it. Take a ride with me and you will know what I'm talking about. I think I scare some of my friends.

Also, Get yourself some real performance mods and you'll know what I'm talking about

Maybe I should try that. I had the same suggestion from one of my other friends.

This guy at the last AZINE meet in Dallas had a Sentra pushing some serious boost. The interior was gutted, but he took several ppl for a ride. I was actually uncomfortable with no roll cage. The OS handle got some good use. So I can just imagine what kind of creative driving you are doing at those speeds.

Man, I am glad you are enjoying the SC and complaining about topping the thing out. Finally a thread post about someone who thinks the TSX has enough power for once.

Haha. It's all good man. I know you were just kidding around man. I was just kidding too
Although, I really think you should get Hondata if you can work it into the budget.

And yeah, I guess that is a good way to look at it. I'm really happy with the speed of my TSX! I wasn't trying to brag or anything. Sorry if it came out like that. I just get some many questions about how fast it is in comparision to other cars so I was trying to give everyone some more info.

An SC doent have a blow off valve. So it doesnt make that kind of noise. Its just whines or screams down the road.

Yeah no blow off valve. You can hear the sound in these videos but you might have to turn your volume up. Here's a copy of the video post from my SC thread in case you guys missed it:

Here are a couple of short video clips. Keep in mind that I have an 5AT. With an auto I have one less gear than a 6MT. I stay in each gear longer so my tach doesn't move as fast as a 6MT's does. I reach a higher top speed in each gear than a 6MT does though.

Here's a quick comparison of the longer gearing:
At the top of 1st I'm at 45 mph, a 6MT is at about 30-35 mph
At the top of 2nd I'm at 75 mph, a 6MT is at about 55-60 mph
At the top of 3rd I'm at 105 mph a 6MT is at about 80-85 mph

In these videos I'm only pushing it hard in 1st and 2nd gear. By the time I hit 3rd I'm going pretty fast, so I let up on the throttle. These videos were done on some country backroads to make sure no other cars would be around. The sound level is kind of low, so you should turn your sound up. My car is pretty quiet though.
My mods are Comptech SC, Icebox, DC Header, OEM cat, OEM Exhaust.
Enjoy!

Day:
http://media.putfile.com/Kennys-Supercharged-TSX---Day

Night:
http://media.putfile.com/Kennys-Supe...ed-TSX---Night

I'm actually holding the steering wheel and camera in one hand and shifting with the other. So that made it a little tough. Hopefully I can get 2nd gear to move even faster with a little practice in finding where the sweet spot on the throttle is.

Also, I'm aware that traveling excessive speeds is extremely dangerous, and I would love to say that I'm in control and playing it safe. However I don't do this regularly (first time I topped my car off since it's purchase) and did these pulls on empty highway roads to make sure if anyone got hurt it'll just be me.[/QUOTE]

it's a known fact that people are addicted to speed. a few are curious to know how fast their car really is. and every now and then you will find the common ignorant idiots who think they're cool.

Had my totally stock EDM honda accord 2005 AT at 238km/h = 148 miles/hour... this in windy conditions.. near freezing point... so in summer it should even go faster. Not that I really want to go faster... passing some trucks driving at 80km/h=50miles/hour with this speed is...ehhh...fast. At this speed my job is only 10 minutes away instead of 35-40 minutes

I once went 170 mph nipped a car, lost control and slammed into a wall in a tricked out euro -r. then i hit the reset button on my ps2 so i dont f%ck up my record on gran turismo 4.

Nah ive only been up to 110 and thats all. the car feels very loose after that and i chicken out about cops then my heart really starts pumping and i feel the adreneline in my chest.

on the highway 120km/h is legal in holland, 130km/h is normal...and 170km/h is max speed if you don't want to loose your driving license

But did this max run in germany... it's legal there... BUT you're not insured(?) at this high speed... don't know exactly above which speed the insurance stops paying out.
When driving about 160km/h on the left lane in germany, they even flash / bumperglue behind you like a madman because they want to pass.... not really healthy behaviour imo... or they must hate dutch honda drivers
