A few in Australia have tuned their AUDM Accord Euro using VAFCii. So I think it's possible.

It might be possible with the correct harness and the VAFC II.

Or worse, if you really screw up, you toast your motor.

Didn't Stokeless fry his ECU doing a custom wiring harness? If so then that's a non-issue, as the prefab one obviates such a risk.

I wouldn't try to VAFC-tune an i-VTEC engine because it is a sloppy solution that I would suspect would be far more trouble than it's worth. I'm surprised nobody still has, though.

It would be neat to see someone try it.

the tune on vafc, has yet to be bettered than a emanage tune, and only one AEM EMS has produced more power than my car, and it made only 4whp more. my s2 has only, KN filter, berk tp, spoon N1 and a aggresive vafc tune and it cranks out 221.2 to the wheels, mustang dyno. on a local dynapack it has put 246 to the wheels. i am a VERY big vafc fan. a well tuned vafc is great power-maker.

i figure that by leaning the TSx out(leaner=more power) and lowering ivtec to around 4000-45000, coupled with my custome Tp,DC header, and resonatorless exhaust could crank out 15-20whp over stock. if a auto TSX baselines around 150-160 to the wheel, i could by-pass the hondata #'s for half the price.

I doubt that since you would have to put in time on a dyno to get the correct tune where as Hondata is pretty much plug and play. Plus, i-VTEC, from what I understand, doesn't quite function in the way that standard VTEC systems do and may provide some more complications. Also, the DBW throttle system might prove problematic as well.

There's got to be more to the equation than simply plugging in and tuning a VAFC controller because it took Hondata a long time to even be able to figure out the intricacies of the new DBW throttle system and do the proper tuning so I would imagine that this wouldn't be a simple task.

My biggest question would be what improvements one could get without being able to control cam angle. That's what makes the K series so much more advanced than the older engines, and I don't think the VAFC II can do that.

I wouldn't recommend the VAFC. From what I've heard the K Series ECUs are very resistent to the piggyback systems. Many RSX guys have had problems with them. I would go the reflash route instead.
