Question Brembo Front Brake Kit from Comptech?

Do you guys/gals think its really worth the price ($2300)? Does anybody on AZ have this setup? If so, how is it?

I do have these brakes, and they realy are amazing, however I am due for a pad replacement and after talking to the only GT dealer in the US here is what I found:

Pads = $245
New Rings = $329 pr Ring
Mounting Bolts = $85 pr Rotor

Cost of my upcomming Brake Job= $1073

I was totaly shocked after talking to Brembo about the cost of parts. What I cannot decide is if I should just do pads, or replace the rings as well. You cannot turn slotted rings.

One other item to note is that Brembo does not recomend x-drilled rotors for hoter climates as they will not last as long as slotted.

for that price you could almost get the spoon calipers and just use them with upgraded rotors.

Remember, most slotted/x-drilled rotor's cannot be turned thus even if I had just 300 upgraded rotors, I would still be replacing them.
Basicly they are twice the price, but man they stop and never fade.

Looks like Comptech's TSX testbed.

All you're going to get with Brembo is the name. If you want a truly kickass aftermarket BBK, go to Stoptech. It's $600 cheaper too.

That said, who here actually needs a BBK? I don't think that even the Realtime cars use aftermarket calipers.

For the street, BBK's are mostly eye candy.

Realtime definitely does use some serious equipment for slowing down though. I don't have a really clear shot but they are using race-spec brembos all around:

Well there go any thoughts I was having about getting BBK's.
Just some quick math with the prices you stated (if that's $245 for F/R pads if not I don't even want to know how much pads are) $1901.

Think I'll just order a set of these:

Just slightly better than CJam's paint and stickers idea.

That is Front Pads only. Remember this would be similar in price to any other big brake kit such as the rotas or wilward.

that ABP is hot! but the BBK so ain't worth ~$2,300 unless you're constantly tracking the TSX, like everyday, lol.

you know how much other mods can be had for that amount of dollars? you can still stop on a dime with much less expensive rotors and pads

Sure you can machine them...but it does ruin the bits on the brake lathes....if I had a lathe I would do it for people, but I would charge a little extra for tooling.

In all honesty, unless you are getting a shimmy in the wheel, I would not worry about it.

Has anyone really installed those? I saw them on ebay and even contacted the supplier. I am tempted but. Wouldn't that be totally lame?
