BBK - Stoptech vs Rotora
So, driving back from the NY meet this past weekend I had some highway fun with Excelerate in his S/Ced Si. It was fun...until I realized that my brakes are shot (still running OEM everything...I know). This means that brakes are undoubtedly the next things that have to be upgraded. I've narrowed it down to the 2-pc Rotora kit (drilled/slotted) and the Stoptech kit (slotted only).
From what I've read, Stoptech has the advantage based on performance alone. Stoptechs have less forward brake bias (i.e. less brake dive) than the Rotoras which is something I value considerably. I've also heard that Stoptech's rotors are better since they uses the former supplier of Brembo as theirs. The two things that Rotora has over the Stoptech is that they clear OEM wheels and that I can get the calipers in that sky blue color which comes very close to matching my Rays lugs/valve stems (saw the Rotora kit this weekend) and keeps with my silver/blue theme.
Now, I figure alot of you are going to recommend the Stoptech kit outright since they supposedly perform better (which to be honest, is the direction I'm leaning). I frequently go for spirited drives on the highway and backroads (TONS of curvy roads where I live), so improved heat dissipation and better initial bite is a necessity. That said, I should note that I don't really plan to track/auto-x my car regularly (maybe 1-2 times during ownership, if that) so I don't even know if I'll be pushing a BBK anywhere near its limits.
Which would you guys choose?

I have Racing Brake Rotors
I am looking to get some caliper upgrades, but don't want to spend too much. Does anyone have any recommendations?
The Rotora's has the gun metal color that would probably match my CGP TSX. The price looks to be around 1k. Not sure if you can get anything cheaper.
I have a stock TSX. I believe my left front caliper is sticking. Does anyone know the price for OEM calipers?
Thanks,
Peter

Definitely voting for Stop Techs here due to not just performance reasons......but the overall quality and bang for the buck reasons.....
And ones is made here in U.S. and uses same rotor supplier as Brembo as mentioned earlier...and one is made overseas, which is questionable in quality since it is definitely not Japan that it comes from......
Rotora might be cheaper, thus more appealing to the pocket, but remember....you pay for what you get!!

i say get the one that is more on the performance side, since u have added more power. u can always have the caliper powder-coated before installation.
i know i have rotora, that was the cheapest at the time. but i probably would have purchased brembo, if i would have waited and got the tein ss later instead at the same time with the rotora...
ur car is still bad azz...hope to see again pimp

Hmm, I'm not certain that the STOPTECH's perform better. When STOPTECH designs their calipers they generally do a few percent less overall piston area to get more rear brake bias or brake squatting whereas ROTORA will generally do a few percent over and will get more forward big brake bias. The STOPTECH kits and ROTORA kits will perform pretty similarly, except just with a different bias in terms of how the car dives or squats.
I have installed both companies' products on multiple cars and they are both high quality and they both perform well. I think it really comes down to who you like better, what color caliper is better suited for you, and what price you can get it at.

just remember when posting up the impressions after the install of any of the kits to note that the initial brake bite and bias compared to stock being harder does not mean the car is braking better.......have to test it out with actual stopping distance comparison.....
and also, do keep in mind that when we all spend such an amount of money of a g or more for brakes or any other upgrades on our car, you gotta think longivity and long term too in terms of quality, warranty, replacement parts and etc.......and to me how much experience and r+d and engineering goes into a product and company makes a big difference in all of those things.......
and in this thread of comparing rotora and stop tech...it is pretty obvious whom does what and whom has more credibilty in the market.....and brembo is just the holy grail of it all.....!!

You do know ROTORA and STOPTECH used to work together? What is your basis for claiming STOPTECH is better than ROTORA? Also Brembo is a great company and they definitely help immensely in the brake market but their prices are out of control. You are paying a lot for the marketing they do and the name. Yes the product is great but you can a very similar kit for $750-1,000 less with either STOPTECH or ROTORA.
