Question Anyone's auto trans having problems? Can they hold more power?

Since Acura has a history of making crappy automatic transmissions, I am curious to know how auto TSX owners are doing. Well probably none of them are in the Performance section (lol) but maybe they will see this and respond.

I wonder if the trans is strong enough to hold the Comptech SC if/when it comes out and other items like that which would help make up the difference b/w the TSX and all the V6 cars out there that shouldn't be passing a nice car like the TSX on the highway.

We all know the last gen TL/CL trans wasn't even strong enough to handle the stock power output of those cars, so after that experience I'd be quite wary of buying another automatic Acura. And no, I don't want to deal with stick everyday in my daily driver.

I'm not sure if its able to hold a Comptech SC ... I'm not sure because I don't know anything about that ... but I personally think the AT for the TSX is very good ... it lets you rev high unlike the 03/04 accord coupe (driven one before) so there is someone a fun factor without an MT. Well as fun as you can have with an AT.

hi,
My friend has a 4 cyc accord coupe and that one doesn't have a sportshift mode. But I was just commenting on the TSX and Accord in normal driving without sportshift

The TSX really cooks on the highway. Mine's a 6MT and I keep thinking I need to downshift in 6th, 5th, and even 4th gear to kick up on someone. No need and I haven't been above 4500 rpm (still breaking in).

I would think this would be effective as hell with the AT. I test drove AT and thought it had plenty o juice.

look at me, I'm doing everything to my car and it's an auto. I use the sportshift, without that, this car would suck . At least with that you can control the power. I got an Auto because I got an awesome deal on it used. I really want a manual though, there so much fun and you can get a lot more power out of it.

So far I've had no problems at all with the Auto. The sportshift works great for racing.

um...no.. the trannies in Honda/Acura are dying from the old TL's, odyseeys, MDX etc... Honda seems to have not figured out the mysteries of the auto tranny or asking for help on it.
