Anyone with Carbon Fiber Hood?

Does anyone have carbon fiber hood installed on their TSX? If you have, which one (brand) do you have and are you happy with it?

Phase Racing makes a carbon fiber hood for the TSX (it's for the Euro-R CL7 in Japan, but I'm guessing the fit is right). They're at www.phase-racing.com I'm interested in getting one too.. so let us know how it goes. :-D

how much weight will be reduced? i hear that carbon fiber hoods will only reduce it by 15 lbs or so... i don't think its worth it for 15 lbs.

Definately not worth it if thats all you do to reduce weight. Kinda ricey.

Every carbon fiber hood that i've seen looks so lame. The gaps are all wrong, the fit just plain sucks.

Was considering the CF hood because my car was damaged by hail. Not sure if insurance company will replace my hood. If they will replace, I thought maybe I can get a CF hood if it looked good. Hence, my reason for asking if anyone has done it.
I was also concerned about the car looking ricey though...
Thanks for everyones input.

well i have a black tsx, so i dont' think it'll make it look ricey... and i wouldn't mind the weight reduction. but again, i don't see it worthwhile if its the typical 15lbs weight reduction. if it removed 100lbs, i would consider it.

if you do get a CF hood..remember the hood pins..they are essential...because the hood will not crumple in a collosion, they will just shift back and cutt off your head if you dont have hood pins...

that is not their primary purpose but they do help prevent the hood from shifting back in a front end collison.

how do the pins prevent the hood from shifting back, is it attached to the frame or something solid in the engine bay? i see the rings on race cars but assumed it was to lift up the car's outer shell since it's a one piece...didn't know it was a safety device

main reason for hood pins is because of the 'lock' it has on the outer part (on top of the hood) to keep the CF hood from opening while driving. incase the after market hook isn't good enough to stay on the latch.
